Chapter Twenty (Regatta part 2)

                      (Cat POV)

Like I said, this was war. Lee and Liya were ready, but the boys on the other hand weren't. By the looks of it they were not expecting much from Lee and Liya. I am sure they thought they could just say sorry and flash one of those smiles that drive girls crazy then Lee and Liya would forgive them. These girls were ready and no stupid apology would make them stop.

Just when Lee and Liya were about to walk up to them, Dan called us girls for a team talk. "Now girls the races are about to begin. No eating any junk food before a race. You have all worked hard for this. Some more then others but we can still win. Even with those who don't work as much and just sleep while others are working.''

After he said that I knew he was talking about Lee. We all knew he was talking about Lee. He made it so obvious by glaring at her throughout his speech. I thought he was done but he just carried on. "This is the game plan. Nix,Roxy and Morgy will do the skull races and the rest of you will do the oct race ( An Oct is a boat with eight rowers and a cox). Okay people that's all. Let's get ready." I was in awe. The rest of us were only going to row in the Oct race. I travelled all the way here for one race? You have got to be kidding me? I was so angry at Dan that I wanted to yell at him. When I was about to confront him about this Lee had already beaten me to it.

                 (  Lee's POV )

This man made me travel all the way here for one race? That bastard, I was going to give him a piece of my mind. "Dan you mean to say I travelled for ten hours just to row one race?" I said in an irritated voice. I knew everyone could see how anger I was by just looking at me but I really did not care. "Lee what do you want me to say? Do you want me to apologies to you about this? Well if your answer is yes, that's not going to happen sister. You should be happy you get to row. Consider this as an act of kindness from my part." He really had done it now. Without thinking I stamped on his foot forcing all my weight onto his foot. He yelped in pain and fall onto the ground holding his foot. So I took a deep breath and smirked. "Dan I don't have to thank you for anything. This is not kindness this is an act of embarrassment so i paid you back with really kindness. Consider yourself lucky." 

From then on we never spoke to each the whole day. Cat, Liya and I spent the most of the day sitting and watching the other races. Until I spotted Ed and the other boys, this was a great opportunity to get back at him in front of his friends. So as I got up I motioned to Liya that I had spotted the boys. Liya decided to go with me but miraculously Cat said she did not to come. It seemed like she was trying to avoid the boys. But I had not time to ask her about it. So we left her and walked over to the boys. We walked slowly making sure our footsteps were soft on the ground. We wanted to surprise them.

 As we approached them we heard them say. ''Ed did Lee really get you something for Valentine's day but you did not get her anything?" Just before he said anything I replied, "Yep I got he something for Valentine's day but he did not get me anything. How nice of him, right?" The boys had such a freight they did not know we were here the whole time. "Oh hi Lee we did not know you were here. Ed how come you did not get her something?", said Josh while attempting not to make eye contact with Liya. He knew he was next to feel the thunder. He was Liya's crush after all and even if he did get her something the writing in the card was not pleasant. "I am surprised you think that Ed not giving her something is bad. I feel that it should be that giving a girl a card with unpleasant words written on it to be bad. Don't you think?" Josh was seriously in trouble, he did not know what to say. He knew if he said something wrong this could end pretty bad for him. You could see he was trying to choose his words carefully but he was to scared to speak. Liya looked at him with a threatening stare. I was even scared of her but it showed that we had the upper hand. "  

So then I narrowed my eyes at Ed. "So Ed when am I going to get my Valentine's day present? It seems like Josh and I agree that you should buy me something. Right Josh." "Yeah Lee, Ed should."

"You know since we are on that note, don't you think Josh owes me an apology Ed?" "Liya he does you an apology. In fact he should take you out to a movie and lunch." He said with a smirk on his face. Josh was crushed. He never knew that Ed would do such a thing. I mean even if he did make Ed feel guilty for not giving me anything. You could see that he never expected that Ed would do this to him.

"Oh well people, Liya and I will be off. Hope you guys can keep your promises." "Wait Lee." "What Ed?" "Can you tell me where Cat is?" "Why?" "I need to speak to her, it is urgent." That alone was enough to stop my heart from beating.
