"Now what do you mean by that Niykee?" our counselor, Ms Hall asked me.
I glance at my husband Abel, as he was waiting for me to answer. I sigh, leaning back, "I'm saying that people think that our marriage is perfect. That we don't have problems when we really do." I say being totally honest. Ms Hall nods her head & starts writing in her notepad.
"What would you say makes your marriage 'unperfect' Niykee?" she asks me.
"I don't know," I shrug, "I love Abel, a lot. But I feel like he doesn't reciprocate my feelings half the time. He has me waiting up till four in the morning for him three times a week, and that's if he even comes home."
"You can't put that all on me Kee! I have a busy career, I'm in the studio half the times that I come home late." Abel rolls his eyes.
"And the other half?" I question
He stays quiet and looks down, without opening his mouth, "You're with that mistress of yours."
Abel doesn't dare lie about having a mistress, since I already caught him with her two days ago.
"Kee, you're not the easiest person to please!" Abel tries to defend himself.
"What does that mean?" Ms Hall asks.
"I'll buy her a expensive ass dress to apologize for something and she still will be pissed at me!"
"What the fuck Abel? I am grateful! Have you ever thought maybe I'd prefer your time than materialistic shit?" I almost shout, "No. Because you think you can buy your way out of every problem."
"How long have the two of you been married?" Ms Hall asks.
"Three months." Abel and I both say in unison.
"Oh wow, three months?" Ms Hall says suprised.
I nod and sigh. It's quite disgraceful that we've been married for two months and already need a marriage counsellor. Our honeymoon phase lasted like two minutes.
"Ok... Abel on a scale of one through ten how happy do you think your partner is?"
"Hmm..." Abel scratches the back of his head and looks around "Maybe a two."
I frown and punch his arm. "Really?!" I yell.
He bursts out laughing and shakes his head, "Nah I'm sorry babe. But I say a seven." He says chuckling.
"He plays too damn much. That's why we get into it half of the time." I roll my eys
Abel scoffs and shakes his head "That's not true officer."
"Officer?" Ms Hall repeats in a confused tone.
"It's counselor dumbass" I roll my eyes correcting him.
