I woke up from my nap, screaming in terror. I quickly got myself together and noticed my friends looking at me with confused expressions.
"I didn't know Power could be so frightening." Lugo said referring to the show we're watching, causing John to chuckle, leaving me kind of embarrassed.
I looked to my left since my boyfriend, Austin, sits not too far away from me. We're actually only separated by Lugo sitting in between us.
That's only because Lugo and I were already sitting next to each other before Austin came over.
"What the hell?" Austin asked me.
I sighed. "I had a bad dream...."
"Clearly." John said, joining in this conversation uninvited.
"Come on John, don't start. Not right now...." I told him.
"You know I'm only messing with you...." he said as he tossed me his extra Snickers bar.
"Well damn since you're just passing candy out, can I get one?" Lugo asked him.
"Here greedy." He said as he gave Lugo the Snickers he was about to eat.
I got up, exited my room, headed into the living room and sat down on the couch. Not too long afterwards Austin made his way in and sat down next to me.
"Are you sure you're ok? You seem a little shook up...." He asked, showing concern.
I sighed "I had one of those dreams again...."
He frowned a little. "Bren, I know you miss your Dad-"
"Look don't worry about it ok? I'm fine, trust me...."
"I don't like seeing you like this."
"I just wish I could've been there to save him or atleast help him no matter what the outcome would've been...."
Austin put his arm around my shoulder to comfort me. "I'm just glad the police found the person who killed him. I can't imagine living with the thought of the killer still being out here, roaming the streets as if he didn't do anything."
"Yeah, I agree. I just still beat myself up about arriving after it went down, but atleast I got a glimpse of who killed him."
"Exactly. You're the reason why that sick fuck is in jail right now and you don't ever have to worry about him getting out."
