As I walked to my school's front door, I noticed Jacob sitting down on the bench, looking extremely sad. A few thoughts started to form in my head and I decided to go over to him.

I'm not gonna lie it's a little awkward talking to someone who's related to the person who killed your father, but I feel like this is necessary right now.

"Jacob, can we talk?" I asked as I sat down next to him.

He didn't give me an immediate answer but he ended up saying "Yeah...."

"I heard about what happened to Matt and I just wanna tell you that if you need someone to help you get through this, I'm here. I know exactly what you're going through and how you feel and I know this isn't easy." I said with sorrow.

"This entire situation is too crazy for me to handle." He said before lowering his head "I should've stayed with him.... He would still be alive right now-"

"Don't blame yourself for this, Jacob. You're not responsible for Matt's death. However, I need the person who is to be found immediately because this is too much. First John now Matt? Nah, something's up." I said, fully convinced.

"You think so?" He asked

"They didn't die by accident! They were straight up murdered." I said, stating my reason for my belief.

"What if the person who killed John is the same person who killed Matt?" He asked. I can tell he's just testing to see if we're on the same page.

I let him know that we are by telling him "That's exactly what I'm thinking."

I got a text from Austin immediately after saying that.

Austin 😋: Wya?

I replied telling him I'm about to walk in the school and turned my attention back to Jacob.

"I'm about to go inside. Come sit with me and the rest of my friends at lunch, if you want." I offered, hopefully making him feel a little better.

Matt was pretty much the only person he hung out with at school. I don't want him feeling alone....

"Yeah, that sounds alright." He said with a little smile that ended up fading.

I frowned a little at that expression. He's hurting so bad....

"Alright well, I'll see you at lunch." I said before making my way inside school.
