Disappearing down the hall Artemis knew by heart, she treaded lightly, hoping to get some idea as to where Black Velocity was. As she went, she began to wonder where was the most obvious place a speedster would go, if he was free. Thinking about how Flash and Kid Flash needed to eat for energy, the only logical place Artemis could think of would be the mess hall, since it had a fully supplied kitchen and a mop closet to use as a cell. Heading there first, the blonde opened the creaky doors, and peered into the now dark room. Tables were still neat and orderly, as if nothing had happened. Going in deeper, Artemis found that both the kitchen doors, as well as the mop closet, were both locked. Sighing, the blonde closed the creaky doors behind her as she left to look somewhere else. As she did, she asked herself the question of where else a speedster found interesting and neat. Getting a good idea, Artemis pulled out her phone, and texted Bart, asking, "Where would you go, if you weren't in a kitchen?" Almost immediately after the text was sent, the blonde got a reply, that admitted that the young speedster hero would probably look for a huge room, to do running in, because of the space. After reading the text, Artemis pulled up a small electronic map of the inside of Belle Reve, to look for the largest room on the prison campus. For once, she wished she had Dick along for support. She also wished she had thought to invite the Flash family along, as they were the only ones who really knew how to stop a person of the exact same metahuman power. Upon finding out that the largest room on the campus was usually off limits to guards and prisoners, it gave Artemis the hope that that would be where Black Velocity and Waller were located, since no one would dare to look there. Following the route in front of her, the blonde came to a thick, large steel door, much like the one that was thought to keep the speedster villain teen contained, except this one had a peephole in it. Peering through the peephole, Artemis stared at the scene in front of her. She saw a frightening, tall man with dirty blonde hair, dark black eyes, and wearing a suit much like Flash's, except the colors were reversed to mostly yellow. A body laid at the feet of the vile man in yellow, but it was not moving an inch. Waller was tied up to an office chair, and was spitting words profusely, demanding that if the captor didn't let her go, she'd have him imprisoned. The captor only gave a laugh, then muttered something, though Artemis couldn't quite make it out. Then, the man did something Artemis didn't even expect. He kicked the body on the ground, and revealed the young blonde's worst fear. The motionless and practically lifeless body on the ground, was that of Black Velocity. Having to think fast, and yet not really thinking straight, Artemis stepped back, and kicked the door, sending her flying backwards because of the impact. She landed on the ground with a thud, then slowly rose again, by help of a hand. Looking up at her aid, she found herself face to face with the yellow dressed villain, as he gave a dangerously evil smirk. He grabbed Artemis by her arm, and pulled her into the room, asking, "Is this who you sent for, Waller? Huh. Not a bad choice, except for the fact that she gave herself away first chance she got." Cringing, Artemis spat into the man's face, then growled, "Let go of me!" The yellow dressed man replied devilishly, "As you wish, dirt trodden rodent." He then proceeded to painfully throw the girl over by Waller, and say, "Since we're going to be spending an awful long time together, I guess you should know who I am..." "Your name's Thawne, right? Eobard Thawne?", Artemis questioned from her place on the ground. The tall villain grinned evilly, then said, "Well done, Blondie. And you obviously know my failure of a son. He spoke a lot about you, Crock. Although, he's never really been my son, just a pawn in this game of cat and mouse with Flash himself." To that, Artemis just opened her mouth, completely stunned by what the villain had said about his own kid. Looking over to Black Velocity's body, gave Artemis the opportunity to come up with a clever idea to trick Thawne, and get him to spill everything, right in Waller's face. She said, pointing to Black Velocity's form, "So, you would much rather kill your only line and connection to Flash, than to keep the rivalry alive? If Black Velocity knew who he really was, and how you stole him from his mother, then murdered her in cold blood, and raised him to be different... Man, I'd hate to be in the middle of that feud." Thawne just stuttered for a second, before asking dangerously, "How'd you know about that?!" Artemis replied, grinning, "It's amazing what kind of information one can gather from a database file, when you have the access to it. There's plenty of truth in it." Thawne sneered, "Then what does Flash know for sure?" "Flash knows for sure that you stole Black Velocity, from his mom, after you and she separated. He knows for sure that you killed his mother, to hide your shame. He even knows that Black Velocity is supposed to be his nephew, which is why he fights him. He wants to see how good his nephew is at using his powers, so he can make him better without letting him know, during the fight. You know why he doesn't just tell Black Velocity the truth about you? He loves him like a son, and would die and go to the ends of the earth to keep him alive and safe, and one word about your lies, would crush him. Think about it, Thawne. We all know what you are. We all know you loved Elise, but hated that she gave you a son. You killed her, and stole him, to keep the secret from Flash." Lightning flashed around the villain, as he yelled, "You foolish girl! You know nothing! How do you know that I do not love my own son? He is my flesh and blood!" Artemis answered, "Love is not teaching a child how to be what they are by blood. It is not practically hiding the truth from them, just because it could ruin a relationship! Love is teaching a child to be the best they can be. Telling them the truth, even if it hurts them in the process. And how I know you hate your son, is you have practically killed him, just because he was a pawn in your game, and you were done with him. Like yesterday's trash, you tried to get rid of him! That is not the love of a father." Artemis finished her tirade, then fell silent, but glared harshly at Thawne, her grey eyes blazing with fire. She had said what needed to be said, and had stood her ground. Suddenly, a male voice said, "She's right, Thawne. I do love Black Velocity, though much more than you do, even if you raised him to be your evil spawn. He's my family, and you will stay away from him, Waller, and the girl."
