Artemis replied, overjoyed, "You did!? That's great, Dick! So what is it?" The raven haired teen pulled out a computer file, and opened it, saying, "There was a case similar to this one several years ago with a speedster. It had the same start, same location, practically the same for everything. He was injured in a battle, and sustained injuries to the midsection. Those that were on the case at the time, did an operation, and used the same kind of drug we used to help with the calming of Wally's metahuman powers, except the other man's story ended in death, as those present didn't realize what was going on. They recently were able to dig up some information from the man's autopsy, that confirmed the drug had caused the seizure, which resulted in his death. Thankfully, newer technology has made it easier for us to get help, and to transport people painlessly, via a Zeta-tube, so Wally was saved from that." Artemis asked, "Who was this guy?" Dick answered, looking over at his mentor, "The man's name was Hunter Zolomon. He was a criminal with speed, which is ironic, and was electrocuted in the electric chair, for his pre-meta crimes, when he got his powers, much like how Flash got his. He survived the chair, and went on to be a danger to even lesser villains." "I think I heard of Zolomon when I was a little girl, but I thought he was just a myth. I always thought my dad was telling me stories about him, to scare me into not asking about his work. So he really was a real person, huh? I wonder if Wally knows anything about him? I mean, they both are, or rather, he used to be a villain. Maybe they ran along the same crowd?" Dick replied, "It's a possibility that they once did, Artemis. Feeling her phone buzzing, Artemis pulled it out, and saw a second text from Bart saying, "Wally is awake and fine again, but is asking for you. Says he needs to talk to you in private. Get to the infirmary soon." Standing up, the blonde said, "I'm so sorry Dick and Batman, but I need to go real quick. Bart just texted me to go to the infirmary for something." The Bird said, "Alright. We'll hold down the fort out here. Go see what you're needed for." The Bat, however, rolled his eyes, or that's what Artemis guessed he was doing. He didn't say anything. Rushing to the infirmary, the blonde went in and over to Wally's side, grabbing his hand in an instant. She commanded, "Now don't scare me like that again, douche! You had me worried all over again! What do you need to tell me?" Wally smiled, then reached up, and gave the blonde a fast, passionate kiss on the lips. " Sorry I scared you. Is that a good enough apology, Crock?", he chuckled. Artemis grinned, then took a seat on the bed beside the speedster, and said, "I guess I can call that an apology, even though you still owe me big time." Wally questioned, "What do you mean? Isn't this what you wanted? The used to be villain now hero, kissing his for real girlfriend?" Artemis replied, "I saved your life, Wally Thawne. I expect something big in return for that." Wally frowned, then said, "Oh... well that's not really why I called you in here though. I was just gonna say I was bored out of my brain. Staying still for too long is driving me crazy!" Artemis answered, "I know you hate staying still, but you need to rest. Doctor's orders. And as your girlfriend, I agree that it's safer for you, to not use your speed or accelerate your heart more. How about this? I stay in here with you, so you'll have someone to talk to. That sound good?" The black and ginger haired teen nodded eagerly, then leaned into Artemis's body, saying, "Got something on your mind, Princess? You know I can keep secrets." The blonde laughed, saying, "Yeah, actually there is something I was going to ask you about. Have you ever heard of a man named Hunter Zolomon?" Wally thought for a moment, then replied, "You mean Zoom? Yeah, I heard of him. My father practically worshipped him for his crimes. It's the reason my father came to Central City in the first place. He wanted to take down Flash and be like his idol. I'm not really fond of his methods, but I did them anyway, and you know why. I'd never want to be as bad as he was though." Artemis stared deep into the teen's emerald eyes, and replied, "Well that's good news. I was just asking, because Dick and Batman think they found a lead on what happened earlier, when you had the seizure. It involved Zolomon, because apparently, he had the same thing happen to him." Wally thought for a moment, then stated, "Artemis... I think you need to know to just let the seizure and the accident go. I don't want you to be hurt, because I love you. My father is in prison for his crimes, I met and am dating you, and we've both survived. I've turned into a hero, and I want to be good. I want to make up for what I did wrong, and now, I've got a new family. Whatever happens, things are good. Let's just try to think straight for a while, okay?" Artemis replied aloud, "Okay, Thawne. I'll let it go.", but inside, she still yearned for the truth. She still wanted to know what happened, and even though Wally had warned her about the truth, she was going to figure it out, even if it brought her to her knees. Artemis closed her eyes, and pictured how just a few short weeks before, Wally was still Black Velocity, a dangerous and hated criminal, serving time in Belle Reve Penitentiary. He was a flirt and a person people feared. She, though, had unraveled the true person in him, and had shown him that bloodlines don't matter. It's if they are willing and determined to be different, that can make a person turn from a criminal, to a hero, in just a few short weeks. Opening her eyes, the blonde reached over, and gave a kiss to the man that had changed her, just like she had changed him. She had found her person. She had found her true love. She had found the only person that understood her, and she had found her spitfire.
Meanwhile, a man sat in a small, dark, odor disturbing room, chains hanging from the ceiling, and was staring at a lit computer screen, sitting on a musty smelling table. He was watching the couple, as they kissed and talked, hatred for the blonde, burning in his heart. He grinned evilly, and stood up from his chair saying with a deep, vicious sound, "You think that's where you belong, Black Velocity? You don't. You are greatly mistaken. You belong with me, and together, with your incredible, raw power, we will take over and destroy the Flash family forever. All it takes, is one spark, to light up the night into flames and fury. I will come for you, and you will return with me. You will learn just how great you are, and where you really belong. You belong with us. You belong to being a villain."
THE END.
Writer's Note: So what did you think, guys? Are you pleased? I really want to know the truth, so say it straight. I honestly had so much fun writing this story, bringing the romance and fun of Spitfire from Young Justice (woohoo Season 3!), with a little spin on the actual story of the show. This is my first fully finished story on Wattpad, and I hoped you enjoyed it! Thanks so much to those who read it all! It makes me feel so happy! I am planning on possibly doing a sequel to this story, if I get enough requests (probably won't though, cause I'm new). Let me know what you think, and if you ever want to talk, I'll be here. Also, I have tons of ideas for stories I've already pre written on Word, if I don't get requests first for new ones. You guys are the voters here! What do you want me to do next? Until next time, find your own little spitfire, stay whelmed, feel the aster, or get traught!
