The grass was wet and muddy since it rained the night before. The sun was out, making Phoenix Drop look like a lit up light bulb. Today, Aphmau was leaving Phoenix Drop to go to war.

They were going to their war camps. Malachi was ten years old, he was very mature for his age.

Levin was only eight, he was very mature but not as much as his brother.

"Protect your brother." Aphmau told her son. A tear eacaped Malachi's eye. He didn't want his mother to go to war. He wanted her to stay.

"I will, Mom." He said. Aphmau gave her son a kiss on the cheek. Aphmau turned to Levin, he was so young. Levin was also crying like his brother. He didn't want to see his mother go.

She gave him a kiss on the cheek as well. She said her goodbyes and left with Garroth and Laurence. Aphmau left Zoey in charge of Phoenix Drop while she was gone. They were going to travel on horses.

"How far is the camp we're going to?" Asked Laurence. The wind made his hair dance. Aphmau looked at Laurence and said "Very far."

"We'll get there by night time." Garroth informed Laurence.

"Night time?! It's only ten in the morning!" Laurence complained. Garroth laughed and Aphmau smiled, it was the first time the boys had seen her smile in a long time.

The first time she looked happy since she became queen. The first time she wasn't being cold and cruel. The first time they've seen the real Aphmau in a long time. Garroth knew that deep down inside, the real Aphmau was there, waiting to be broken free.

Garroth was Aphmau's most trusted guard for a reason. He was her most trusted guard because he knew Aphmau. He knew everything about her. He knew things, Aaron didn't know about Aphmau. Garroth loved Aphmau. Deep down, Aphmau loved him back.

That sadly couldn't happen because Aphmau was going to fight a war, she couldn't get distracted by love. Garroth knew that and he respected that. He knew Aphmau wanted to win this war. He wasn't going to let her loose it.

Katelyn watched as Lucinda practiced her magic. They had arrived at the war camp just a few hours ago. Aphmau's war camp was very far from Katelyn's. It would take Aphmau hours to get to Katelyn's camp

"This spell should make Aphmau's soldiers weak." Lucinda explained. The camp was small but full of soldiers.

Horses were being fed, soldiers were training, and Katelyn was planning her attack.

"We attack tonight near the pond." Katelyn explained. Jeffery nodded in agreement.

"We'll take all of our soldiers with us." Katelyn continued. Jeffery was worried, he still was convinced that Aphmau's lightning powers could help her win the war.

It didn't matter now, this war had to be won. Katelyn or Aphmau, one had to win.

"If we take all of our soldiers, we'll have a small chance of winning this battle." Jeffery said. Katelyn wanted to agree, but Katelyn didn't know how many soldiers Aphmau had, she has to take her chances.

Katelyn was furious with Aphmau, her longtime friend. She couldn't believe what Aphmau had started. Katelyn didn't want to start a war but Aphmau had forced her into this. Aphmau wanted a war, Katelyn was going to give her one.

One thing that Katelyn was sure of, was that this war wasn't going to be easy.
