The news had hit Garroth like a rock. He felt horrible for leaving Aphmau pregnant and alone, who knew how things were going to be now. "My second child." Garroth thought to himself, my second child and I won't even be there for him or her.

He wanted to be a good father, not a dead beat like his own. He wanted to be there for his child, he didn't want his son or daughter to be raised by Aphmau, she was going crazy, not exactly a good thing coming from a mother.

Katelyn walked in, to attempt to comfort her friend. "How are you doing?" She asked, Garroth sighed. "I'm not okay." He said, Katelyn sat next to him.

"This war has to end now." He continued. "I don't want Aphmau getting hurt, especially when she has my child inside her." Garroth said.

"I'll make sure she won't get hurt, right now you have to focus on everything else, for your child. The faster this war ends, the faster you'll get to see your baby girl or boy." Katelyn told him, Garroth wanted to believe her he truly did, but with everything that's been going on, who could he trust?

"It just won't leave my mind, what am I going to do?" Garroth said, Katelyn deep down felt bad, she didn't want Garroth to worry, she just wanted the war to end.

"No, what are we going to do, we'll win this war, I promise." Katelyn said, Garroth knew that Katelyn never broke her promises but, he couldn't help but think "Will we really win the war?"

Laurence stood up from his chair, he watched as the soldiers practiced their sword fighting skills. The sun was out and the sky was bright, a beautiful day but, an ugly situation.

"Good job, Tom!" Laurence said to the hard working soldiers, he had survived all the battles, he was brave and bright. Laurence was surprised he had made it this long, the only soldiers that were still alive were mostly the ones that have been trained for years, Tom on the other hand had never picked up a sword before the war.

Laurence was glad he had improved, maybe it will help him live. Laurence kept watching as the soldiers practiced, Aphmau walked up to him and watched too. "How are you doing?" He asked her. She smiled at him, a bright smile. "I'm doing good, I'm still very upset with Garroth." Aphmau said, Laurence couldn't believe the way she was acting, she was calm for once. "Maybe this pregnancy was changing her." He thought to himself.

There was a moment of silence between the two. "I better get going, I have a few battle plans to correct." Aphmau said, Laurence nodded. He was getting a bit suspicious, he hadn't seen Aphmau act this way since she had become queen. He knew it wasn't the pregnancy, it was something else, he just couldn't put his finger on it.

Aphmau was changing, it wasn't the war or the pregnancy, it was her power. A power she could barely control, a power she hadn't mastered in years. A power that could kill innocents, and she wouldn't care. Her lightning powers was it, it was the cause for her changing. "It has to be right?" Laurence thought to himself, it couldn't be anything else. For the rest of the day Laurence watched soldiers practice and helped a few improve their fighting skills. When night came it was time for dinner, the food supply was going low so most soldiers didn't get much to eat. Laurence ate his dinner, from the corner of his eye he saw Aphmau laughing, like she was taking to someone. He turned to look at her and saw her talking to Tom. Laurence found this weird, Aphmau never had a relationship with her soldiers. He knew he had to inform Garroth about this.

Kiki made apple pie for Malachi, she knew it was his favorite dessert. "Maybe it'll cheer him up." Kiki thought to herself. She took the apple pie of out the oven and sat it down on the dining room table. "Malachi, I made apple pie come eat!" She said, Malachi was in the living room sitting on the carpet by the fireplace. Kiki went over to him. "Malachi, want some apple pie?" She asked. "No." He whispered, Kiki sat next to him.
