The smell of pancakes and bacon filled up Laurence's tent. The only good thing about being at war was the amazing breakfast. Aphmau wants all of her soldiers to be well fed before a long day. Garroth walked into Laurence's tent. The smell of pancakes and bacon reached his nose.
Laurence was shoving food in his face, as always. He was in his armor, eating his breakfast.
"Good morning, Garroth." He said with a mouth full of food. He kept eating as Garroth sat across from him.
"I have something to tell you, Laurence." Garroth told his friend. He hated keeping secrets from his best friend. He had to tell him, whether he liked it or not.
"Remember how I told you Levin's my son?" Garroth said. Laurence nodded in response with a mouth full of food.
Garroth took a deep breathe before speaking. "Well, I think Malachi might your son as well." He said. Laurence was chugging down some orange juice, but dramatically spit it out. He choked on some of the juice.
"W-what?!" He exclaimed. He wasn't mad, he was surprised.
"There might be a chance, I'm not too sure yet." Garroth said. Laurence was starting to fill up with rage. All this time Aphmau has kept this from him and he has to find out years later from his best friend.
Anger ran through Laurence as he got up from his chair. "L-Laurence?" Garroth stuttered. Laurence ran out to Aphmau's tent.
Her tent was purple, of course she'd get the nicest tent. She was queen after all.
Garroth followed his friend to their queen's tent. Aphmau was sitting on her bed, looking down on the ground with an angry look on her face.
"How could you not tell me?!" Yelled Laurence. His voice was filled with anger and pain. His blood boiled just thinking about all the lies Aphmau had told him.
"What are you talking about, Laurence?" Aphmau asked. Surprisingly, her voice was calm. She wasn't yelling or anything, for once.
"You never told me that Malachi's my son!" He yelled. Garroth tried to calm him down, but failed. Aphmau looked at Garroth, her unshed tears explained everything.
Aphmau looked back at Laurence and said "I was going to tell you, but I guess someone did it first."
Garroth's stomach twisted, part of him felt bad, but the other part of him didn't. He could tell Aphmau was lying. She wasn't going to tell Laurence, she was going to keep it to herself.
"Lies." Laurence said, he could tell she was lying as well. Laurence wasn't stupid, he knew Aphmau, he knew her ways.
Aphmau sat there in comeplete silence. Disgust in her eyes, blood boiling, and revenge in her mind.
"Whatever." Aphmau said, she left her tent, leaving Garroth and Laurence.
"She thinks she can get away with this?!" Laurence yelled. He was furious as much as Garroth, but he knew that drama wasn't needed. Especially during a war.
"Don't worry, Laurence, she'll admit it soon." Garroth informed his friend. Laurence wanted to believe him, but after everything, was there really anyone to trust?
