Chapter 13: Pregnant Queen

"Aphmau, you asked for me?" Laurence said, Aphmau smiled at him and said "Hey." For once, her voice wasn't cruel and cold as it always was.

"Is this about Garroth taking Katelyn's side?" Laurence asked, Aphmau smiled at him.

"No." She breathed out, the smile wouldn't leave her face. Laurence sat next to her on the purple bed, he sighed. "What's up?" He said, Aphmau put her hand on her stomach.

"I'm pregnant with Garroth's baby." She breathed out, still with that stupid smile on her face.

"Why did you call this meeting?" Garroth asked. Lucinda, Jeffery, Rhaenys, Travis, and Garroth were all in the room with Katelyn, wondering the same thing.

"I got some news for you, for all of us." Katelyn said, looking at Garroth then back at everyone else.

"What's going on? I'm starting to get worried." Lucinda confessed, Katelyn looked down at the wooden table in front of her, she looked disappointed or upset.

"Garroth, Aphmau's pregnant with your baby." Katelyn said, everyone in the room glanced at Garroth, who looked stunned.

"T-this can't be." He stuttered, Katelyn sighed.

"We can't continue with our plan to kill Aphmau, she's pregnant." Katelyn said.

"What if she's lying?" Rhaenys piped in. Garroth glanced at her and said "She's not lying." Garroth knew Aphmau was telling the truth, he knew she wasn't lying.

"We need another plan, if we can even come up with one." Jeffery said. Katelyn looked at Lucinda "Anything you can do?" She asked.

"I can try to move the baby to someone else's body, the baby will still technically be Garroth and Aphmau's but, I need Aphmau to be in the same room with me for it to work." Lucinda explained. "That's not gonna happen, since she's pregnant there's no way in hell she'll be fighting battles." Rhaenys said.

"We need another plan." Jeffery said, Travis sighed, not knowing what to do next.

"Travis, any word from you?" Katelyn said, he sat there, with a blank expression on his face. "No, your majesty." He said.

"After the pregnancy, we'll attack Aphmau." Rhaenys said, anger ran through Garroth.

"What am I supposed to tell my child? Aphmau was killed by a dragon?!" Garroth yelled, he didn't want his child to grow up without a mother, it was his biggest fear.

"This meeting is over, we'll talk about this in the morning."Katelyn piped in before things could get bad. Everyone left the room, Garroth stressed, Jeffery and Lucinda tired, Travis not knowing what to think, and Rhaenys angry. They all left, leaving Katelyn. She didn't know to think or what to do. Things were getting difficult, very difficult.

Zoey was still healing, she still kept a smile on her face to let others know she was okay. Leona gave Zoey a cold glass of pink lemonade. "Thanks." Zoey whispered, Leona smiled back. "I hope you get better." Leona said.

"I am, I feel much better." Zoey said, she didn't want Leona to worry. Leona went back to her bed and read her favorite book, a book she managed to take with her during the attack. It was the only thing she found interesting, at the time. Kiki came back in the room, her eyes landed on Malachi who was sitting by the fireplace, looking at the crackling fire. She was worried for the young boy, she was worried for him very deeply.

"Malachi, want some apples?" She said, picking up a basket full of green apples. Malachi whispered "No." Kiki frowned, she felt bad for the poor boy, he hadn't smiled or laughed in days, he hadn't shown a sign of happiness in days.
