Song fic- I'm Not the Only One by Sam Smith
You and Tsuki have been dating for a few months now, but for the last few weeks he has been very distant and it's making you worried.
As of recently, he never walks you home anymore making excuses such as "I've got to study with Yamaguchi", "I have volleyball practice", "My brother is in town", and many other excuses. It's become so frequent that you're starting to think that he just doesn't want to be with you anymore.
You've been so unavailable
It was after school and you decided to go to the gym to watch your boyfriend practice. You thought it was the least you could so since you haven't hung out with Tsuki lately. You neared the gym and could hear volleyballs on the gym floor and you think you heard Kageyama yelling at Hinata.
You walk into the gym looking for your boyfriend. Looking all around the gym you see all the club members except for Tsuki. You see Yamaguchi and decide to walk up to him and question the whereabouts of Tsuki.
As you made your way to Yamaguchi you two made eye contact and he looked shocked to see you there. "Hi Yamaguchi-chan!," you say excitedly. He nervously smiles at you "Hi (F/n)-chan!" "Have you seen Tsuki-kun by any chance?," you question the first year. He doesn't make eye contact with you and hurriedly says "No, I'm sorry (F/n)-chan, but I have to start practicing now!," once he says this he rushes to the court. You were shocked by Yamaguchi, usually he's very calm and collective but today it seemed as if he was avoiding you.
You stayed for almost half an hour and Tsuki still didn't show up. After waiting awhile you decided to leave the gym and went to look for Tsuki in one of his classrooms. As you were making your way to the classroom where his last class usually was you heard a females laughter. "Haha Tsukishima you're too funny." As you heard your boyfriends name you went closer to where the voice was coming from. Before you could walk into the room you thought they were in you heard your boyfriends voice say "You're just too cute to not make you laugh (random girl name)."
You stopped in your tracks. You could not believe what you just heard. You heard your boyfriend call another girl cute. You were hurt. How could he think about another girl when he is still with me. You decided to keep listening to their conversation.
"Tsukishima I think I really like you. Will you go out with me?," you heard the girl say. You waited for Tsuki to let her down and tell her that he had a girlfriend already but what Tsuki said next brought you to tears. "I think I really like you too (r/g/n). How about we go out tonight on a date?" You could not believe what you were hearing. Your boyfriend just accepted another girls confession and also decided to take her on a date tonight. Not wanting to hear anymore you turned, head down in shame and started walking home.
Now sadly I know why
You went home and decided to take a hot shower before confronting Tsuki about what happened earlier this afternoon. Once you were done showering you grabbed your phone and texted Tsuki
To: Tsuki
From: You
Hi Tsuki, will you please come over. I really want to talk to you about something.
After sending your text you waited a little bit, every minute making you even more nervous than the last. After about 10 minutes of waiting your hear a notification go off on your phone.
From: Tsuki
To: You
Sure (F/n), but I can't stay too long I have plans for tonight. I'll be over in a few minutes.
To: Tsuki
From: you
Ok
Twenty minutes felt like forever. As you were waiting all you could think about was how were you even going to being this up to him. You worried that he would get defensive. You worried that he would say that he didn't love you. You really wanted him to come over to your house so that he could tell you that it was all a misunderstanding, but you couldn't let what you heard go.
Your heart is unobtainable
Finally after what felt like hours you heard a knock at your front door. You opened the door and saw Tsuki. "Hi Tsuki." "Hi" he shortly responded as he walked into your house.
"So what did you want to talk about?," he said in an annoyed tone. You looked down and pushed your hair behind you ear. "I went to your practice earlier, but you weren't there,l" you softly say. At this Tsuki's eyes widened. "After awhile I left cause I didn't see you," you continued. As you kept talking your voice was becoming shakier. "When I went looking for you I heard you with another girl." As you said this you looked back up to Tsuki.
Tsukishima was looking at you nonchalantly. When you were about to start speaking again Tsuki suddenly said "I think we should break up." You looked at him with your teary (c/e) eyes. You respond to him, voice barely above a whisper, "You don't love me anymore." You said this mire as a statement than a question.
He looked at you, no emotion showing in his eyes. "(L/n) I don't think I ever fell in love with you." Once you heard these words from his mouth the first tear slipped down your cheek. In the most broken voice you asked "So you never loved me? All this was one sided?" As you choked out these words more tears fell down your face. "I gave you my everything, I gave you my heart, why can't I have yours in return?," you questioned him.
Even though Lord knows you kept mine
Tsuki had no words for you it seemed. So he started moving towards you when he got close to you, he looked hard at your tear stained face. Just as he reached you you though he would stop walking but he walked past you. Once he was behimd you he put his hand on your shoulder and quietly said to you "I'm sorry you had to find out like this, but I just can't be with you anymore, I have someone else I have feelings for."
No response was given to him. All you could so was let the hot tears run down your face. You heard your front door open and before Tsuki left for good he said "I don't expect you to forgive me, but I hope one day someone will give you the love you're looking for." With that you heard the door close, that's when you fell to the floor.
You couldn't do anything but cry and cry. You let it all out to the point where no more tears cane out. It was just you trembling. You just lost the love of your life, someone who never loved you in the first place.
That night you fell asleep feeling nothing but the reminiscent of a tear staines face and itchy swollen eyes from all the crying.
