"This is it.."
A medium-sized brick house with a tan roof stands before you. Your eyes travel to the beautiful front yard; there are garish flowers in numerous colors and the lush green grass is freshly-cut. The bushes that are neatly clipped to look like ships capture your attention.
The male beside you notice your eyes filled with amusement and regard you with a lopsided grin. "She does go by Mrs.Shipper after all."
Knocking on the redwood door, you await for the witness. Instead of the familiar brunette, you're greeted with a young girl who seems to be her daughter. Smiling, you kindly request for her mother. "Hello, we're crime scene investigators needing to speak to your mother. Is she home?"
The girl tenses up as her icy blue eyes widen ever so slightly. Sensing her nervousness, you briskly say, "She isn't in trouble, don't worry. We just need to talk to her about important matters."
She nods, her silky dark brown hair bouncing a bit. "I'll get her."
A minute or so fly by. Mrs. Shipper appears at the doorway and smiles apologetically at the two of you. "I apologize, I was upstairs cleaning. Come in." She steps aside and opens the door wider as you and (C/N) tread in.

You sip the brewed green tea. Releasing a relaxed sigh, you tenderly place the fine bone china cup down on the matching saucer.
(C/N) leans back against the leather sofa, getting ready to jot down the significant information.
"It was around 6 in the morning. I was heading to the grocery store, which involves passing by the sushi restaurant. I saw a waiter inside with a lady and I found it strange because the restaurant opens at 8. Yeah it could've been a waitress but she wasn't in her uniform and it seemed as if the two were arguing. Suddenly, he grabbed a chair and hit her head with it." Mrs. Shipper pauses and furrow her eyebrows. "I was horrified and immediately hid around the corner to phone the police."
"After phoning the police, I went back to the restaurant to take a peek. He threw a cup on the ground and crouched down to her body. That's all I was able to see and I left the scene."
Tears prick her eyes as she promptly wipes them with the back of her hand. "I should've done something. She would've lived."
You lean across the table and place a hand on her knee, giving it a gentle squeeze. The pen moves rapidly across the empty paper; the only sound in the room is the scribbling. "I believe it's best that you didn't interfere, he could've killed you too," the male beside you murmurs, eyes still focused on his notes. "Appearance?"
"Dirty blonde hair and was in a black and white waiter outfit. That's all I could perceive."
A click sound indicates that (C/N) is done jotting down notes. "Thank you for your time." Packing everything up, he gives her a curt nod and heads out.

Right as you're about to pick up your bagel, a light cream file folder drops on top of it. Narrowing your eyes, your head snaps up. "Yes?"
(C/E/C) eyes flicker to the folder as his hand gestures to it. "Open it up."
Your eyes scan the new content inside. The murderer seems to be one of the males listed; both males have dirty blonde hair and is a waiter at the sushi restaurant. (C/N) once again jingle his keys in front of your face. "Ready to end this case?"

The sun beams down, a yellow glow casting on you. The case is finally over; a waiter who goes by Nicholas is now behind bars. His reasoning for his actions? He loves Rosaleen, but she doesn't feel the same way and instead loves another waiter.
"He's such an imbecile." (C/N) mutters, shoving his cold hands in his black jacket. "So uh.."
Turning around, you arch an eyebrow. "Yes?" He looks flustered and you're curious as to why.
Your partner heaves a heavy sigh before speaking. "I was uh.. wondering.. if you want to hang out at the ice cream parlor? You know, kinda like a celebration since we're on our break?"
Snorting, your lips tug into a smirk. "Like a date?" Snickering at his expression, you gently nudge him. "Just kidding!"
(C/N) scowls, his eyebrows knit together. "I'm taking that as a yes then." His pace accelerates, heading into the parlor. Hastening, you're about to tread in but the door slams shut and bonk your nose.
"(C/N)! YOU ARE SO-"
"Exceedingly attractive, I know. You flatter me once again love."
