Belle's POV
I was walking down the streets of LA in the boiling sun. I took refuge underneath the shade of a nearby tree. I saw a group walk past me, they were so happy, so full of joy. 'They probably all had jobs...' I thought. I looked down at the papers in my hand once more. It's like my resumes don't want to leave my hands.I got an iced tea from the café across the street. I sat back down, sipping on the cool drink. I finished my drink and my break. I got up and started walking, looking for more job signs.
I past the same group I saw. I felt someone brush me, making me drop all my papers. I cursed underneath my breath. I heard a loud 'Sorry!' and saw someone help me. It was a man. No, a teen. Actually, a young adult. Definitely a young adult. He gathered the rest of my papers and stood up.
I took in his features. Bright blue hair on the top of his head, blue eyes I could get lost in, and he had acne. "Thanks." I smiled shyly. He chuckled, looking at the ground.
"It's okay, it was my fault anyways." He paused, staring down at the ink filled papers. "Hey..." he looked up at me, "are these your resumes?" I nodded. "Maybe I can help you. The name's Ethan, by the way." He stuck his hand out to shake, I did so.
"Belle." We exchanged numbers and he took one of my resumes with him. I walked away, smiling at the gesture. No one has ever done that for me. No one has ever been nice to me. Period.
Nothing is really sunshine and rainbows once you're older. Look at me. I'm twenty, I should be in college right now. I instead used what money I had and some of my grandmother's money to move to LA. Where has that lead me, you ask? Well, I'm all sweaty and gross walking down the streets trying to find a stupid job that I need oh so badly.
As I reached my shitty apartment complex, I felt my phone buzz. I took it out and saw Grandma was calling. I answered. "Hey Nonna."
"Oh, sweetie! How are you?" I smiled.
"I'm good. How are you holding up?"
"I'm okay. Did you find a job? Did you meet anyone?" I smiled to myself, thinking of Ethan.
"No job yet but I did meet this really nice guy." I heard her gasp.
"Who is he?" I chuckled.
"His name is Ethan and he took one of my resumes to help me out." I could feel her smiling. I heard her talking to someone on the other end.
"I have to go, Hun. Stay safe. Love you."
"Love you to Nonna. Bye." I hung up, sighing. I entered the building, giving off a smile to the receptionist and walking in the elevator. I was about to press the button for the fifth floor when someone came running in. It was a man, about six feet tall. He had slick brown hair and hazel eyes that complimented it very well. He had a scruffy beard and a muscular build.
I moved out of the way, letting him go for a buttons first. He shook his head, motioning me to go. "Please." He motioned me. I smiled, nodding at him as a thank you. I pressed the button and stepped back. "I'm Leo, Leo Brand." He smiled, his dimples showing.
"Belle, Belle Martin." We shook hands. "Y'know, we actually live on the same floor." I gave off a smile. "I guess we'll see a lot more of each other." I saw him smirk.
"I guess we will. Maybe tomorrow at lunch? Say, 1:00?" I was taken back. No one has ever asked me out. I smiled, nodding. "Sure. If you need anything, call me. Oh wait, you'll need my number." I winked, we then exchanged numbers.
I don't know how I was being this flirty. I'm never this good. I pushed this thoughts away and the elevator stopped. We got out, thinking we would go in separate directions but we didn't. We instead had apartments that were across from each other.
I walked into my apartment, a smile on my face which had never been this big. 'Meeting two cute guys in one day. I really killed two birds with one stone...' I put my bag on the coffee table and crashed on the couch.
As sleep was about to take over, I heard my phone ringing. I took it out and saw that Ethan was calling me.
