Kendall's POV
Tuesday Night ( 6:00 )

All the girls were throwing their clothes in the gym lockers and beginning to walk out on the track.

I on the other hand, I'm freaking out.

What if I don't make it? Everybody is going to hate me! What if I false start and get disqualified? My life depends on this!

I pinch myself to hop back into reality and stop whining. Instead, I cry. I just want to go home.

vssst! vssst!

What now!?

I look at my phone to see that Melo is calling me. Sniffing a couple times and clearing my throat, I hesitantly answer the call.

"Hey. Can we talk now? Where are you?" Melo says on the other line. I really don't want to speak to him. Especially now.

"No. Tomorrow okay? I have to focus." I reply making up some lame excuse and hanging up. Unexpectedly, a knock comes onto the locker room door.

I start to panic already believing the fact that it's Melo. I get up straitening out my uniform and wiping any left wetness on my eyes.

When I open the door I see Teri. "GIRL THE COACH IS LOOKING FOR YOU!" Teri grabs my arm and we both ran to the track.

I get in the warm up line acting as if I was already there and add myself in on the movements.

- LaMelo's POV

"Yeah bruh she just hung up on me!" I complain to Don and Phaquan who was sitting next to me on the bleachers eating hot dogs.

"Just talk to her after her races man. She probably doesn't want any distractions- damn this hot dog good! You should've got one, with yo' skinny ass!" Don replies making first a valid point then sounding stupid.

I wave them off and move down the bleachers to where my dad, Zo, Gelo, and Eli was.

"They called the 100 meters yet?" I ask grabbing some of Zo's popcorn. He smacks my arm and glares at me. "Nah nigga! Get yo' hands off my food!" Zo ignores my question.

It seems like nobody cares about my situation so I just wave it off as well. The 100 meters wasn't starting so I took out my phone and scroll through Instagram.

30 minutes later!

"This is the first call for all boys and girls who are running the 100 meter dash, please repost to the check in stand immediately." The lady on the intercom announces.

I put my phone down and try to find Kendall. Struggling, I find Lacey annoying self instead. She winks at me which makes me cringe.

Finally I see Kendall who is tying her spikes. I hurry and jog down to where she is.

"Hey!" I start, jogging towards her with a hopeful smile. "Just wanted to say good luck." I say already regretting it.

Just say you love her!

"Alright bye." I finish and walk off. I can feel Kendall's eyes burning onto my back as if she's so confused on what just happened.

I give myself a face palm and try to shake off the embarrassment. Walking towards my family, the first heat goes off. Kendall looked like she was in the 3rd heat.
