Wednesday Night
Kendall's POV

LaMelo, Matt and I were all going to Cass's house. We said our final goodbyes to Teri and she left to the airport.

Nobody knows where we are going. If somebody found out, we could possibly go into Juvie for trespassing.

When we reached the house, there was caution tape surrounding the outside like a protective gate.

"Are you guys sure about this?" I nervously asked. Melo glares at me. I mouthed "what". I was only asking.

He seemed to have change today. Especially at the funeral. Nobody has ever heard Melo read a poem. Hell, I didn't even think he could read.

Everyone always pictured him as a basketball star when really his talent could also be a poet.

Matthew stepped over the tape and walked up the stairs on the porch as I followed behind him.

We all quietly stared at the front door. It was messy, and brown. There was tiny scrapes all over the door like a cat scratched it.

Melo twisted the knob and the front door creaked while opening. It was dark and silent. I walked in behind the boys and slowly closing the door behind me making sure no one saw us.

When we first came in, there was caution tape everywhere. What happened?

The wooden floor was dirty and sticky. The house itself had an odor. Like a weird, nasty stench. "Split up. Kendall you go upstairs and find Cass room. I'll look down here to find her room. Matt you can go through the kitchen to find anything suspicious." Melo ordered.

We all followed the plan and I walked up the stairs. Although I wasn't to fond looking through upstairs by myself, I didn't want to anger Melo more.

I didn't see Cass room but I saw her parents. There was no door on the wall. It looked like it had been broken off. I walked inside joined by the loud cracks the floor had made.

The room was very dirty. Clothes on the floor, mirrors shattered, no sheet on the mattress, beer bottles and drug substances were over the dressers, etc.

It seemed like the smell was coming from here. I didn't want to pick up anything so I simply left the room.

"Guys I found her room!" Melo shouted throughout the house.

I quickly but safely went back downstairs and found Melo in front of a room. The room was pink and purely clean. There wasn't one dirty spot in the room.

We all walked in to be greeted by old photos of everyone together in her room hanging up on her walls. Besides Matthew considering they barely knew each other.

There was this one photo with Teri, Me, Melo, and Cass all sitting at lunch together goofing off like usual.

I looked over to Melo at the corner of my eye. He seemed disturbed. Like he regretted coming here. Out of no where a tiny tear came out of his eye. I barely noticed it until he quickly wiped it away.

I grabbed his hand and interlocked our fingers. He looked over to me like a sad puppy dog. I mouthed 'its okay' and payed attention to the room again.

Matthew walked around the room and touched everything. He then opened a drawer that had a infinity symbol sticker on it.

"Guys, you gotta see this." Matthew said nervously. I released my hand with Melo and walked to the drawer.
