The Princess's Unrequited Love

Chapter Fourteen: I Promise...

I woke up and Diana wasn't there, so I thought that maybe she's cooking breakfast. I get of the bed and put on my clothes. I went to the kitchen, and Diana wasn't there either. I saw a food, covered by a blanket, and when I remove it, I saw a letter. "What's this?" I wonder, and then I tear it off and shocked when I read it, it says:

Dan,

I love you, but I'm so sorry...

No wonder that's she's been silent all along, but I think of it as a trick or something. I went to the stable and NO sign of Apple Jack too. I begin to think that she runs away, but there are still two place that maybe she went off to. I ride Dylan and give him a leg aid. We run fast as we can, and when we arrived at the river and looked everywhere, there's NO sight of Diana, though the garden of roses is left and we checked on it, there's NO sight of Diana either.

I went home thinking that maybe she's there, and when I arrived and look inside the house there's NO Diana. There's NO sight of Diana everywhere, the only left is the note and the breakfast that I haven't eaten yet. I get angry and furious and start to throw all things that's in my way, I can't calm thinking that Diana has run away. Is that why she's begging for me to say to her my feelings.

Suddenly someone knocked, it knocked and knocked, but I didn't bother to open the door. I was in depressed that moment, then I heard a crash sound, I headed to the place where I heard it, and it's my door that broke. I look at the people who just crashed my door, it was Genevieve and Edward, then Genevieve slapped me and said "YOU said it was NOT a PROMISE, but a COMMITMENT! I entrust Diana to you, so that you can move forward. It's been more than 5 years since your parents died Dan; I think that this is your opportunity to have a life! You've been keeping yourself in this mountain like FOREVER!" 'So ARE you saying that Diana is just a stress reliever for me?!" I answered back.

"I didn't mean it that way, Dan, but if you think of that way, then THINK it as that way! For 17 years, Diana has been kept away from her own Father, always been alone, and not even ONCE has got out of the castle! If you still loved Diana, I'll go help out again, answer me!" Genevieve said, but after a few minutes of waiting Dan's answer, Genevieve gives up and said "So that's your answer, fine then! I won't help you TWO from now on, oh I know, I'm setting my ties with you Dan! From now on we're STRANGERS!" after Genevieve said that, she grabs Edward and said "Good bye, Dan!" They went outside and ride their horses and Genevieve said one last thing "Oh Diana, you heard what's Dan's answer is, come and ride on, let's go back now!"

I was shocked when I heard that Diana is here, so I went outside, but I only saw Genevieve and Edward. "You do love her, Dan..."Edward said. I look away from him and Genevieve smiled and said "I'm sorry for what I said earlier, Dan, the truth is I can't go back anymore. Papa founds out that I've been helping her and Diana sacrifice herself for me, even though I want to go back, I just can't! I don't know what Papa is going to do with her, but please rescue her like you did back then. You're her only hope." After she said that, Edward and Genevieve left with their horses.

I've been thinking negative thoughts from the start and I....I went inside the cottage and saw that it's messy. I'm angry and furious, but never did I think to go to Diana. Genevieve's right! I should go and rescue Diana, besides "IT'S NOT A PROMISE, IT'S A COMMITMENT!"

I ride onto Dylan and give him a leg aid. We run as fast as we could, and when we arrived at the castle, the guards stopped me. I fight them to get through; when I finally stop them more guards came out. They push me out of the gates, and suddenly the King arrived and asked "Are you Dan Mason?" My face looks angry, but I didn't let it show, and I said "Yes, I am! Where's Diana?"."You're still finding her! After you kidnapped my daughter, and not only Diana, because of YOU! Genevieve also runs away!"The King said. "Who says I kidnapped your daughter? I'm here to get Diana, NOW let me through!" as I was saying that I try to come in, but the guards are stopping me. "Don't you realize what kind of person you are? You're the lowest of the LOW! Diana is a Princess, and you're just ordinary person who works hard, and you can't satisfy her!" he said. My eyes went big, but I said "Yes, I am an ordinary guy, but that doesn't mean that Diana is a Princess I can't satisfy her, she's a noble lady at the outside YET a simple girl in the inside! As long as we love each other, nothing else MATTERS!"

The King didn't say anything, but his shocked when I said that. The guards is forcing me to go, and I said to the King "Your highness, wait for me and I'll prove to you that I'm worthy of your daughter!"

I ride onto Dylan and run.

The King walks to go inside in deep thought, and his right-hand man said "I'm sorry to say this to you, your majesty. In the past, when you and Queen Annabelle love each other, and your parents found out your relationship, you said "As long as we love each other, nothing else MATTERS!" Your highness I've been taking care of you since you're a child, and when the Queen died, you've changed". "What are saying?" the King said with furious eyes, "I'm saying that you've been thinking of yourself, you became like your Mother!" he said "Don't compare me with my Mother! She decided all since I was birth-" the King's face look like realized all of his doing, but he said "I'm just doing what's best for Diana". "Or is it for your best?!" he said. "I would to have a break, my majesty even if you object I'm still going to have a break. When I'm gone please reflect of your actions.  After the King's right-hand man said that, he packs his things and leaves the castle...

Dan on the other hand had been waiting for the right time to enter the castle, but his horse is acting strange and Dan asked why and Dylan is keeps struggling, so Dan went down, and something fell down. Dan picked it up and opened it.

Dan,

I'm sorry for what I did, and I didn't tell you about this, but I just can't get you in trouble so...I know that Papa won't keep me in that castle. Follow the map and you'll see me there. Dan I'm really sorry, but please hurry I want your help. Dan, I LOVE YOU!
