Hello, my name is Aiken. I'm an ordinary, shy boy, a little nerdy, a lot weak. I'm gay. Like all the girls, have a crush on the bad boy at my high school, Caleb. I like to record and edit videos of anything and everything. I carry a video camera just about everywhere I go. I have few friends, none of whom go to my school, though. Like everyone, I have a bit of a dark side, as well... I lead a fairly ordinary life... Usually.  But that's not why I'm here. I'm here to tell you the story of how my life changed.

It all started one day at school. Not a totally ordinary day, but not super special. The end of the school year was drawing quite near, meaning no more high school for me, very soon. I was almost finished my year thirteen, so I'd be totally done in just under one month. It would be great, but... I had still never even spoken to Caleb before, which was unfortunate. I really do like him, but I'm way too shy to ever dare to approach him. But, I digress. There was little significance to this day, except for one thing. There was a fancy sheet of paper tucked in my locker. An invitation to a party. Me? Really? How strange. Though, the invitation stated that everyone in the host's classes was invited. I feared of the chance that this would be just a trick. No one cared about me at my school, and I knew that some of the people that go there that are not above doing something cruel to people who are vulnerable, like me.

But I wouldn't let my fears get me down. I would attend and try to have fun. I could bring my camera. I could make a personal mini-documentary on high school parties. You know, for the memories. It makes sense to me. I had never, nor ever will, attend another high-school party.

"Bye, Dad," I called out to alert him that I was leaving.

"Bye, son. Don't drink and drive, don't do drugs," he reminded with a chuckle, knowing I would never do that.

"Same to you," I teased, shifting my attention. "Bye, Mom," I said softly, picking up a photograph. "I'll be good I promise. I love you." I kissed the photo and returned it to the shrine. I nearly shed a tear at the thoughts of her but managed with difficulty not to begin crying. I had to stay cheery for the party.

I walked up to the large house, in awe of the fanciness and the number of cars there. I really did believe that ninety people had been invited - and were attending. I took a deep breath and fixed the strap of my messenger bag. I knocked on the big door and waited. But no one came to let me in. The music was loud through the closed windows, I assumed that was why. Though, there was another car pulling up. I decided to hide myself to see what this person would do. Oh, she looked as lost as me. Though, she was clearly a step ahead; she walked straight in. I took a moment to calm my nerves and did the same.

I looked around the giant house, standing obliviously in the doorway. It was amazing... And quickly becoming trashed. Unfortunate, but that wasn't my concern.

"Hey, you!" Someone called. "Who are you?" Why was I not surprised...

"Um, I'm Aiken," I replied, reaching into my bag to pull out the party invitation with my name on it.

The clearly intoxicated girl stared at me for a minute before handing me a big red cup, similar to those littering the floor, and leaving to join her friends. I took a sniff of the substance it contained and put it down instantly. I don't like beer.

"Smile for the camera?" I asked two drunk girls. I had given up on trying to enjoy the event like a normal person. I had my camera out which earned me a few funny looks, but most people were glad to be part of my documentary.
