"Okay students, settle down." It was third period at Winterson Arts and their principle had called for an assembly. This meant a lot of kids were slightly over-excited.
"What do you think is about?" Elsa whispered to Jack, who was laughing as the boys in front of him threw paper aeroplanes across the auditorium at their music teacher.
"Ahh, it's probably just about the end of year showcase." He shrugged.
"It's April, the showcase isn't for like, three months."
"I don't know," Jack chuckled, "I guess we'll have to wait and see."
"I've called you here to discuss this year's showcase."
"Huh, well what do ya know?" Elsa mumbled to Jack and they both laughed under their breaths.
"I'm sure you're aware, a new school has opened not far from here; 'Starlight Arts.'" The mention of this high school was met with a loud rumbling of boos from the students- and a couple teachers.
"Yes, yes. Anyway, this means that our showcase is going to be slightly different this year. Are you ready for a challenge?" This, was met with immense cheers. Some of the kids here were pretty dumb, but boy did they have spirit.
"Our two schools will be participating in a talent show that'll be nationally televised to draw some attention to us. After all, both our schools will need new students next year, so we need to get our names out there. There will be no winning school- before you get too excited, but there will be a winning act, who will win $1000!"
"Are you kidding me, that's insane?!" Jack grinned at Elsa, unable to believe what he was hearing.
"So if I were you, I'd get started on preparations." Their principle smirked, and walked off of the stage the let the students go wild.

"So Snowflake, what are we gonna do?" Jack ran to catch up with Elsa. All the students were making their way out of the auditorium and the crowds had split them up for a minute or so.
"Why do you mean?" Elsa frowned at him.
"For the showcase? It has to be our best ever-"
"Wait- you want to do it together?" Elsa pulled Jack aside so they could talk to each other without the chaos surrounding them.
"Well, yeah. Don't you?" He raised an eyebrow at her.
"I don't know I have to think about it. This is serious. It's going to be televised, Jack." She laughed nervously.
"Els, I know I was there."
"Why are you mad?" She reached out and touched his hand.
"I'm not mad, Elsa. I'm just confused." Elsa noticed he had his jaw clenched, meaning he definitely was in fact, mad. "We always do the showcase together."
"But, that was before-"
"Before you had a boyfriend?" He looked at her and folded his arms.
"That was before the principle told us it was going to be on national television. I wouldn't sell you out for Hans and the fact that you even think I would proves that you don't know me one bit." She sharply turned away from him and joined the crowd making their way to fourth period.

'Are we going to talk about what happened today?' Elsa stared at the text from Jack lingering in her notification bar and slid it up deciding she did not want to talk about. She was sat in bed wearing a sweatshirt that actually belonged to Hans but she enjoyed wearing because it was big and comfortable. Her hair was in a very messy bun and she was listening to her favourite playlist on Spotify that usually made her feel very peaceful. It wasn't working.
