Chapter 2

Divya's pov

"Soo...What do you do these days?" Tarun asked me in between of our conversation. He had brought me to this café and now we were trying to catch up

"I'm a surgeon now, probably you took over your father's business, right?" I asked him

"yup...you know me" he said, but then his phone started ringing

"Yeah Maya...Yeah yeah" he said to somebody on the phone

"So sorry Baby, but I have to go somewhere very important... You take my phone number, I'll call you later" he said after he hung the phone and pulled my cheeks. I don't know why he always called me baby, but he always had this protective incense.

"Bye Taaru" I said and he started his lamburgini and went off, I looked at my watch and realised I was quite late so I immediately got into a taxi and went off to the hospital

It was evening by now and I kind of felt bored..... Today unlike other days there were no much operations to do.....

My phone started ringing I held it and found it was Tarun

"Hey!" I chirped out on the phone

"Hey baby.... I am really sorry for going off like that!"

"Arre....its okay" I said and looked at his image on my phone so calm and patient like always... Its true I had a crush on him when I was in 5th grade but I feel like it was just a crush, like I was in 5th grade okay? I forgot to believe in true love. It doesn't exist. The truth is I don't even wanna get married

"Baby?" Tarun asked again

"Yeah!" I replied

"Where are you now?" he asked me

"I'm at the hospital, why?" I asked

"Baby! What are you doing at the hospital!! Are you not feeling well?!! Wait a minute, which hospital?!! I'm coming!!!" he asked me

"Tarun.... My job is only a surgeon, so I'm obviously at the hospital" I said, I smiled at the fact he was worried about me.

"Oh...I got so scared!" he said

"Anyways, I gotta go. Bye baby!"he said

"Bye Taaru!" I said and hanged up.

I looked at my watch, it was already 8:00 pm. Step mother is going to kill me

I quickly climbed into a taxi and went home, thankfully no one was there. I think they had gone out to eat

I cooked myself some light food and ate and slept. It was a good day today, unlike other days which are so worse.

Looks like life decided to flip back on me, I had not washed the clothes and here was step ma shouting at me

"How dare you not wash the clothes!!! Go do them now" she said grabbing my hair and pulling it and again pushing it down.

"I'm sorry Step Mother" I said, I got up and went to wash the clothes.

Why? Why did I get this life.... I never wanted this life, I never chose this life. This life chose me.

I was at work when, dad called me

"Yes dad" I said as I picked the phone

"Divya!! We are going to the Thaiwar's house this evening. So please wear something presentable." he said as he hung up

Wait.... He said Thaiwar's?!! Oh my god!!! I'm going to Ranjan uncle's house?!! He is Tarun's father. Ranjan uncle liked me very much, he always petted me as his own daughter as I never got any love from my real father. Maa also left me because she didn't love dad, but what about me? Oh...

When she didn't care about dad, who is her husband, then why will she care about me. I'm the product of her and dad.

Tears were already forming in my eyes with the fact that in this world no body loved me. Then I glanced to my right side desk.

She was an exception.

"Hey Divya! What happened???" she said in her ever so charming voice. Sthuthi was the only one who cared about me so much, even she was not always happy, even she had problems like me. Her mother had died giving birth to her and her father had died due to liver and kidney cancer as he was addicted to smoking and drinking.

She had so much money but she still behaved like a simple girl. She wanted only one thing in her entire life and that was love when we were in second year of college Abhijit and she met, they slowly fell in love with each other and I and Tarun helped Abhijit propose Sthuthi , but one year after that Abhijit broke up with Sthuthi saying he never loved her but any human being could say it wasn't true he said that with pain too... By the way what happened to him, was he okay, I didn't listen anything from him for more than 8 year, infact I also just saw Tarun after 8 years. We were best friends in college but when we became 18 we went to fulfill our dreams on our way to graduate and never met again, I met Sthuthi after that four years ago when we came to finish pg. Till then we were in different batch. I smiled remembering those memories
