4.) The Declaration of Independence wasn't actually signed until Aug. 2
5.) Fireworks (was a tradition stolen from Great Britain and used since the very beginning)

15.) Jefferson's face on Mount Rushmore was originally going to be on the left of Washington but the people working on it were told that that was going to lead to disaster, basically, so they blew off Jefferson's face from the left and put it on the right
