Chapter 5; A Camp?...
____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Quickly the trio ate together at a small cafe. Once they finished Ares left Raven and Chiron to continue what he first sought out to do, stir up a fight between gangs and street trash. Raven enthusiastically waved 'goodbye; to the war god before turning to Chiron with a sweet smile that made passerbyers hearts melt.
Chiron smiled gently at the 'demigoddess'. "Come along young one, we must make our way to Camp before it becomes too late." Raven nodded and began to follow thoughtfully. "Mr. Chiron...?" Raven's soft voice breached through the comfortable silence between the two. "Yes young Raven?" Chiron asked gently, giving permission for the tentative little one to continue. "What...what is this camp like? Would it truly be alright for me to be there?" Chiron stopped rolling at that question. Turning his head to look at the scared and shy child he gave her a soft comforting smile while his eyes took on an indescribable ancient look.
"Young one, you will see, I can not guarantee you'll love it, but it is of the safest place you could ever be in this world. Your...your mother has been to this camp herself as she grew. Many truths will become known to you there. I will tell you more then at that time when it comes, alright? And...as requested you will not be immediately thrown into camps...population. As you are a special case in the way of background. Alright young one?..." Chiron answered nearly choking on words as he saw Luci, in Raven's place smiling brightly up at him as a young child then again as a beautiful young woman.
It was painful for the old centaur. Lucinda held a special place in many's hearts. She was different from many of the other children of the King of Gods. She wasn't arrogant, she was soft spoken and kind. She was the camp's big sister, and the god's 'baby sister'. The death of the woman broke many of them in a way. And with Raven, the child was so much like her, it was so obviously there that it was just depressing. Especially so when you know the young one holds an awful curse. The awful curse at that.
Chiron closed his eyes and took a breath. This was Raven, Lucinda's beloved child. And so this child will be protected the best they could. And so, he knew immediately that they will either lock her within camp's borders till they were sure she can protect herself, or keep her lineage in the darkness, and have her grow 'normally' till she truly could handle the truths.
It was disheartening to think, but the most likely course of action would be to keep the poor child in the dark, and keep her in the Big house during summer, while she lives in awful orphanages during the rest of the year. He hopes and prays to the gods that it will not be how it goes...but he knows it will be.

Raven was happy, with a full stomach, new clothing, and giddy to see this new camp, to explore this future of a world. Most things baffle and confused her. The brightness and loudness and the lack of nature was surely off-putting but she could handle that much. And today was so much fun! She finally could put a personal description and experience to that word!
Everything was simply wonderful, getting her to forget her trouble, and woes. And the lack of knowledge she holds for this timeline that'd be considered common knowledge. Then again she was hopefully young enough that most would not question her own questions.
Now all that is left for today is to get to this camp and rest for the day. She knew she already slept for years, but with such an exciting, curious day she needed the rest. In fact after awhile of walking, she began to doze. So much so Mr. Chiron had her perch herself onto his lap as he continued to roll forward. The last thing she saw was the man's soft smile, and gleaming eyes filled with vast knowledge and wisdom and experience. The last thing she smelled was a soft scent of brewed coffee, and a musk that reminded herself of a forest filled with pine and an assortment of wildlife. And with that her senses shut down as she deeply slept.

Chiron sighed thankful for his arms that he no longer needed to push forward. He couldn't wait till the automobile wheelchairs that will be vastly available is out on mortal market. Looking down at little Raven he cradled her in his arms as he stood up and out of his enchanted wheelchair. Once fully out and stretching his aching fetlocks and hind legs that are sore and locking up from un-use. Taking the contraption and having it a pocketable size. Chiron repositioned the young girl and road to Camp, specifically the steps of the big house.
There on the porch sat Mr. D, or Dionysus, god of wine (who at the moment is on probation, sadly making the young god even more insufferable to be around) there playing pinochle with a few wind spirits, and a satyr from the Council of Cloven Elders- Maron he believes. But that is the least of his concern at this moment of time. And briefly eyeing the state of the big house, along with camp, the campers were turned back into campers, there was no more 'during and after prank' chaos and everything is nearly cleaned up, thank Olympus.
Nodding to himself, Chiron trotted carefully up the stairs and set Raven into a guest bed, the room just above the infirmary quarters downstairs. Quite sure that the poor young girl was deep asleep and tucked in warmly. Chiron carefully went downstairs to see the unwilling Camp Director himself, Mr. D.
The god of wine didn't bother to glance up as Chiron walked to the table. Merely shuffled through his cards and laid down a bid. "So that was the girl hm?" Mr. D sighed as he rubbed his forehead. "This camp is just going to be even more agonizingly irritating isn't it? Especially with a child of Lucinda's..." The god groaned.
Chiron huffed amused, "Oh yes Mr. D, especially seeing, so far on what I have noticed she acts nearly the same as our dear Lucinda as well." The god merely groaned more in 'agony' of the future 'idiocy' that is to come.
Chiron knew old Dionysus, he knew like nearly everyone else, he was a sucker for Lucinda, caring for the Demigoddess of Zeus and descendant of Athena and seeing her as his young, reckless, baby sister. So the groaning is actually his reluctance of getting attached to a 'short life-spanned, stupid and small minded demigod child that'll just be more problems then it's worth'. Honestly, everyone knows he cares for his children (when he does have them), and is full of some concern about the borders, campers etc, even if he plays it off as not wanting to be in trouble with the other gods since he is putting their children in unnecessary danger.
And seeing as Raven is the child of Lucinda, she holds value and automatically a piece of themselves to her. And it doesn't help she is cursed, with the mother of all curses. In which makes us even more caring and protective of the young 'demigoddess'. So he can see where the 'agony' and grips about such 'idiocy' is coming from. It's just the reasonings are not true, in every sense of the word.
