Chapter 9; Average Life for a Half-Blood
____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Raven had a bit of trouble with school. Her dyslexia proving as a barrier to her learning despite her hard work. She was just grateful she was able to get a slight hold of her adhd.

At least then she isn't the one struggling to make out a sentence and unable to stop fidgeting and moving all about- sure her wandering conscious is a slight problem but again at least she wasn't disrupting class.

She quite liked the mortal world where monsters hid and it was a strange adventure trying to blend in with mortal life. It was at least a breather from the ever so crowded Cabin 11 and Luke's judging looks.

Call her stupid okay? She may have a itty bitty- sorta giant crush on the son of Hermes. Despite knowing she looks way too much like Thalia for any actual feelings or even a friendship to grow.

It got her brooding at times. Just wanting to sit alone at Zeus's fist to just think and kill monsters as they came for her. You see her scent was extremely strong. The satyrs constantly told her it was a fresh scent but with a touch of a wooden and earthy smell- like a old cavern filled with the scent of fresh rain. And at times one scent held a stronger odor over the other.

Anyways- she began to enjoy solitude more then interactions with others. Especially when she turned 15. Coming back for summer to camp was a horrible punch to the gut when Terra died along with a friend of her's in the Athena cabin- the previous cabin leader Cheryl.

Though to be honest with herself, things have been going from bad to worse since she was 13. The year she figured out her godly parent. And has been trying to keep it a complete utter secret from everyone. Except Chiron. Though she doubted he never suspected it or known since he found her all those years back.

She was terrified how the camp- her home would view her as. Terrified Zeus would strike her dead the second she let anything show. And most of all- terrified how Annabeth and Luke would react- to know she was the daughter of the god that brutally killed their beloved friend.

Going off original topic though, like nearly everything when it comes to her mind. She liked the freedom of the mortal world. The exhilarating chase and fighting monsters- she felt as free as she was when Ares set her on his shoulders and jumped from that building so long ago. Terra, Cheryl and Annabeth often pointed out she seemed maniacal and too happy during deadly and dangerous situations. And she could never deny that.

The teen stretched, yawning slightly sitting at the edge of the roof top at her high school. Holding her leather jacket in a loose grip she hopped up, balancing on the ledge. Tying her jacket around her hips with her blood red flannel she walked along the brick border taking her time and perfectly balanced before heading inside hearing the lunch bell.

Walking into her latin class she sat in the back row grabbing a piece of paper and a pen boredly waiting for class to start then end. Oddly she found Latin simple to learn- at least as easy as it was with Greek and English. She chalked it up to it being one of those dead languages- just being able to understand it due to her parent. Like how the Aphrodite cabin understood French.

Though not to tell Chiron, her best grades were still P.E. not in the stuffy classroom despite her having an easier time to get her mind focused on tasks unlike most other demi-gods when it came to the classroom.
