Naida's POV
I kept pacing around, some howls and snarls loud outside. I wouldn't have any nails left to bite on if this continued.
I needed to go out and fight, but I couldn't risk myself being grounded again, not able to run, not now when I had found my mate. If we were going to settle things between humans and wolves we needed to stick together.
"Dad..."
"Not now, Naida!" I huffed and bit my lip as I stared the whole thing from the window.
"You know I could help!!! Don't tell me I've been training for nothing!!!!" I could sense he had blocked me and I stomped my foot on the ground.
Why were they acting like this??
Suddenly I saw a bolt of fire cross the battle and a few rouges lowered their heads and ran away. A smirk grew on my face, of course.
Mom.
She never took her whole form as a whole-blooded. She just used her powers at a small extent, nothing compared to what is said to have happened that night with King Darrian.
I saw her slim figure duck wolves while her hand gestured around, big roots trapping and holding the rebels in place. I cheered to myself.
You go mom!
Then everything started moving in slow-mo. My eyes widened and my lips parted in surprise, my hands getting sweaty and cold.
What the actual...?
A huge, enormous thing was making its way through the forest, making the trees shiver at his speed, making it look like the woods were afraid of whatever preyed on this battle.
"Ehh, dad?"
"What now Naida???" he screamed.
"Look behind you..." I mumbled, not being able to shake the shock off me.
Just then, a dark figure entered the battlefield and made its way towards my mom, who was focusing on chasing away some rouges, who probably were running away from this monster.
"Shit." A curse left my lips as Chrissy made a sprint to warn her.
No, no, no, no.
My feet went on a sprint themselves as I rushed to the door and down to go out.
My eyes struggled with the bright light and my hand flew up to cover my eyes until I got adjusted, while my feet kept taking me towards my mother.
"Mom!!!" I shouted into the mind link, but maybe she was too concentrated, for she didn't even hesitate in her movements. I panicked as I watched the huge thing walk towards her.
What the heck was that thing?
It didn't seem like a wolf, it seemed more like a mix of bear and dinosaur...
My eyes almost popped out of my orbits. This thing fitted the description my mom had given me of Darrian's monster.
Was there more of this monsters out there?
I gasped as I saw his form get closer to her, his eyes fixated on her figure.
I sprinted through fighting wolves, loud snarls and some bare teeth.
"Shit. Mom!!! Look out!!" I yelled just in time for her to turn around and send the monster flying backwards and landing with a loud crash as some birds left the trees.
I sighed in relief once before my breath hitched once more, the monster was growling, attracting the attention of other wolves, stopping the battle, silence invading the field.
