Naida's POV

I gasped and panted as I took in my surroundings. I watched Chase and Chrissy stare at me in shock and worry. I turned to my parents and caught a glimpse of my mom's shiny palm before the glow disappeared from her mark.

I widened my eyes when I realized what that meant. I had almost died.

I could remember parts of the struggle, my urge to wake up, but my numbess and weakness refraining me from doing so. I also remembered Hayden leaving me, and how I had to convince him to leave me. I sighed in relief at the fresh air in my lungs, letting myself fall again on the couch.

"What happened to me?" I saw my parents exchange looks, probably asking themselves if they did know.

My mom seemed to make a decision after a long debate, sighing and sitting next to me, looking in Chrissy's direction, asking her with her eyes.

Chrissy nodded and bowed once before taking Chase's hand and dragging him with her out the room. I frowned at my mom, the pressure making me hiss in pain. My head was pounding heavily.

"Sweetheart? Are you alright? Is your head the only thing hurting?" my mom asked as my dad rushed to us.

"Kay, do you think..?" my dad asked my mom as she let out a reluctant sigh.

"No, it is too early, we still have three weeks left until she presents some of my symptoms..." her voice faded as she fell in deep thought.

"Unless... she is half-blooded." my dad seemed to read her mind, for she shot her look in his direction at his words, her eyes almost popping out of their orbits.

"Is that even possible?" she whispered, seeming to take it into consideration.

Ok, now I was a freak.

"Is it possible that I am only half-blooded? Shouldn't that make me... I don't know, normal anyways?" my mother shot me a playful glare.

I raised my hands in surrender.

"I'm only saying, every wolf has a bit of pure-whole blood in them, I couldn't have any powers if I'm only half-blooded..." I trailed off as I stared at my mother, my mouth slightly open.

"Unless you were born from a whole-blooded she-wolf.." she mumbled, realization hitting her like a ton of bricks.

I let myself fall down on the couch as I took in everything.

My mother was a whole blooded she-wolf, I was a half-blood born from a whole-blood, meaning it was actually possible for me to have half the powers she had. Even my dad had acquired certain powers when her whole form appeared. I had met my mate, my birthday was three weeks away, my wolf was probably losing control over herself. Maybe something had triggered inside of me, inside of my system.

Then I realized something else, and more shocking, if possible. I had blond hair, golden eyes. My wolf was golden.  Hayden had black hair, silver eyes. And his wolf was silver. What could this possibly mean if I was half....

My eyes widened and I had to refrain a shriek of surprise.

He might be half-blooded too.... and the experiments that were performed on him might have triggered other powers... He was like the yang to my ying.

"Moon Goddess...." I mumbled under my breath as I took one hand to cover my mouth.

"What is it Nay?" my mom checked my temperature with the palm of her hand, a look of worry and deep thought on her eyes.

"I... kind of have something to tell you guys..." I looked at them with worry, suddenly feeling much stronger. Whatever might have affected me, it was gone.

My dad frowned as he kneeled beside the couch.

"What is troubling you sweetheart?" How was I supposed to tell them that my mate was a wolf-less werewolf?

I took a deep breath and opened my mouth to speak, but was interrupted by a loud commotion on the other side of the door.

All of us three turned to look at the door, waiting for someone to break in, my dad had crouched in front of my mom and I protectively. My mom didn't feel like being protected tho, she moved to his side, answering to his growl of disapproval with one just as loud.

I flinched. I knew my dad only wanted to protect her, mates' bonds were incredibly strong, especially in Alfas. But I also knew that my mom's nature was to stand up and fight. I was a bit like her.

Our breath hitched when the door burst open and showed a pair of patroling wolves carrying an envelope.

"Alpha. Luna." They bowed slightly to my parents, which were already in front of them.

"Princess." They nodded their head in my direction and I got up from the couch, walking closer to them.

"What's in the envelope?" I asked, taking it from my dad's hands.

"Naida..." he began saying something, but I silenced him with one finger when I read who had wrote it.

Hayden.
