Chapter 15- Just peachy isn't it?

Hayden´s POV (Yay!)

Okay, so, my mate´s a royal, we both might have powers and my father might not be what he said he was...

"Just peachy isn't it?" I heard Naida scoff and throw her small body on the couch once again.

I had to restrain a laugh at her cuteness, she was just plain adorable.

And she was mine.

"But it can't be possible..." Queen Kaylie gasped, her eyes widening.

"Cedric! Is it possible..? That there are more like me at once?" she whispered, her voice trembling with emotion.

Both King Cedric and Naida turned to stare at her.

"That would explain how he survived to his mate's death..." we all cringed at that part.

"I still don't understand the appearance of that monster in the battle... it looked just like Darrian." Kaylie walked around with her arms crossed. The living personification of confusion.

"I heard that Darrian had a brother, a twin. But that Darrian had killed him when they were born on accident. If that is true or not it might explain the resemblance and nature of these creatures. The curse of that family might still be alive in this monster."

I had heard about King Darrian's battle, I knew about the curse, and gossip seemed to travel even faster among she-weres than human girls.

Naida remained silent, her eyes fixated on the book.

She slowly brought her knees up to her chest, hugging herself. She looked so naive and innocent in that position, so defenseless and fragile. I went up to her and picked her up in my arms. Her arms flew around my neck and her face went hiding in my neck.

"Hayden, I think it'll be better if you went with Naida to her room, it's been quite a long and stressful day, and there's is a lot of information for you two to think about. I think we should continue this tomorrow after breakfast... or better yet, Naida will give you a tour around the castle and the nearest town. We still need to talk to our Betas and Thirds."

I nodded.

"Until tomorrow then." Both of them smiled at me.

"Until tomorrow... ehh... don't want to sound like an intruder but where should I sleep?" I asked just as I was about to walk out. Naida was half asleep already, I could sense it.

I turned to see Kaylie looking at the book and Cedric hugging her from behind.

"In Naida's room of course." Kaylie said without looking up. Naida let out an approving sound and relaxed entirely in my arms.

I just stood there, bewildered and confused at her light answer to my question. Was she actually serious? Cedric let out a laugh before I could answer and looked at me with something similar to nostalgia in his eyes.

"Mates can't sleep separated from each other once they've met, it destroys them to be away from them and will make sleep difficult." he then turned to stare at Kaylie with a knowing look.

She blushed deeply at some memory, I guess, and so I decided not to ask any more questions.

"Alright then, until tomorrow." I nodded and walked out with my precious mate in my arms.

"Trust me, you don't wanna know why they said that. I find it quite gross myself." I heard Nay's voice in my mind.

I let out a chuckle and pressed her closer to me.

"Whatever you say, my dear." I pressed a kiss to her forehead as she directed me to her room.

"Now turn here, that door is the one for our room." she sighed as she snuggled her cute little face in my chest, inhaling deeply.

I knew that feeling, her scent was simply addictive to me, just sensing it calmed me down and excited me at once. 

I was sure I would never be able to live without her, I just knew it the moment I saw her and smelled her scent.

I managed to open the door and walk to the bed, putting Naida down carefully. Careful to not make a sound, my feet began carrying me to the couch in front of the bed.

A whimper made me stop in my tracks and rush to Nay's side.

A tear was streaming down her face. Automatically, I started panicking and my hands went to cup her beautiful face.

"Nay? Sweetie? Are you alright? What is it baby?" I started rushing the words out.

"Why were you leaving? Don't you want me? Did I do something wrong?" I sighed in relief.She wasn't hurt.

"What are you talking about? I was just going to sleep, I'm here Nay, don't worry."

"But I want you to sleep here, with me." she pouted and hugged my neck, bringing me down a bit.

"I'll be here, your mom told me I could stay here."

"Yes, so? Why are you sleeping on the couch?" My eyebrows raised and I let out an 'oh' of understandment.

"I thought your mom meant I could stay in your room only, not that I could actually sleep with you." I pecked her lips softly as I went to take of my shirt and throw it on a side of the bed as I climbed in with Nay.

"You silly silly boy." Nay chuckled weakly as I pulled her towards me.

I pouted at her and she laughed louder this time.

"You look so adorable and cute when you pout!!" she put her forehead against my chest as her laughter died down.

"What?!" I'm not cute or adorable! I'm a solider and manly as hell!" I turned around, my back facing her.

She chuckled and climbed around my back to settle her chin on my shoulder and arm.

"Come on! I was just joking!" she whined. I remained silent and pretended to be asleep.

"I know you aren't asleep, come on!!" she bit on my shoulder and I almost take her there and then.

Almost.

I managed to keep my act up.

"Fine."

Next thing I know, she scoffed, hit me with a pillow and rolled on the other side of the bed. I then turned around just to meet a lovely sight.

Yes, a pillow. She put a pillow between us!!

"Fine." I chuckled and tried to sleep.

Ten minutes went by. I now understood why Cedric told me that. Having my mate so close and yet not touching her was hell!!

"Baby.." I called for her.

"I know, I can't sleep either." she softly said, giving in.

I moved the pillow and pulled her from behind.She relaxed and melt into me, she fit perfectly. The sparks and tingles appeared everywhere. I felt such relaxation that I didn't notice I was falling asleep at a faster rate than usual. My arm went around her waist and held her firmly, her breathing going at a relaxed pace, almost asleep.

"I love you Nay." I whispered in her ear before kissing her neck and shoulder.

"I love you too, Hayden." she moaned softly at the contact of my lips with her skin.

"Night little one, sweet dreams."
