Astrid's POV
As Hayden and I sat on the couch watching the T.V. in silence, million thoughts were running through my head. I can't ever have a breakdown like that, especially, in front of anyone. Just because he has contacted me doesn't mean he's really out. He or one of his friends are probably just trying to scare me. Well it was definitely working.
Stupid tell Hayden!
No! He'll tell everyone, and then they'll think I'm a freak. Everyone will hate me. I won't have the friends that I finally have. I have wanted this forever and I'm not giving this up. Not now.
You're putting yourself in danger because of friends.
Shut up!
The T.V. wasn't as interesting to me as it was to Hayden at the moment so, he wouldn't notice my anxiousness and nervousness. While I was thinking about how the world around me is collapsing in front of my eyes again two unfamiliar figures walked into the living room.
"All settled then?" Hayden asked not even bothering to look at them while speaking. That's so rude, I'm sure the horse races are quite entertaining, but does he have to be rude to his friends? He's quite lucky to have them.
Getting angry at his sudden behaviour I jabbed his side hard. "Ow! Women what the hell is wrong with you?!" I just glared at him hoping he would catch on to what I wanted him to do, but no, what does he do instead? I'll tell you what the rude pig did! He glared back at me and goes back to watching the T.V. I jabbed his side again earning me a groan, and a few chuckles from the two strangers that I have yet to meet.
"Don't worry, he's always like that when he's watching the race. He watches it on repeat." the girl said with a soft smile which I gladly returned, and then went back to glaring at Hayden.
"Still, this idiot needs to learn some manners." I said bitterly feeling my blood boil. I absolutely hate rude people. They are the ones who always manages to get on my nerves.
"Oh HO!HO!" The male laughed out loudly. To be honest it sounded like an maniac, but who am I to judge his laugh although I'm confused at what he's laughing at because at the moment no one is laughing apart form him, and I'm finding this a little creepy.
"Brother has finally met his match I see!" Brother?! What?! They don't even look alike. This guy is really weird and starting to scare me. The T.V. finally switched off.
"Oh come of it Dagur, you're confusing pretty face here." Hayden smirked while I continued to glare at him.
"Shut up!" I whisper yelled to which he chuckled. I wasn't that obvious was I. No! I can't be.
"Calm down princess, he just calls me that because he's stupid. He's just my friend. Heather however, is Dagur's real sister." I still didn't reply, but continued to glare at him. He still doesn't get it. He is completely ignoring the presence of Heather and Dagur, as I come to learn their names, while they were sitting right in front of us.
This carried on until the front door opened again causing me freeze on spot.
Calm down Astrid, it's nothing.
I repeated to myself. There's nothing to worry about really. Hayden just told me that the guys left, it's probably them coming back.
"Hey, hey Astrid. Did you meet Dagur and Heather?" Ruffnut came into the house shouting making me chuckle. She doesn't even know that I'm downstairs.
"Yeah Ruff, I met them." I replied politely.
"Well, that's good and all, but I really want to get this barbeque started." She said walking towards the kitchen with bags in her hand. Snotlout, Tuff and Fishlegs following her.
