Severus Snape was a troubled man. He had suffered so much during his younger years.
So much so, that as he finally matured into a man, the damage was done and his cold, and cruel personality was already inbuilt.
It was almost as though he was pre programmed to live the life of a much less deserving man.
All he had ever known was sadness, loneliness and abuse.
How was he supposed to believe it when others told him that yes, there was a world out there and yes, he could change his life?
Some would say that he was a creature of his own making, and others would simply imply that he refused, due to fear, to seek the happiness that love could bestow upon him.
The sadness rested within the truth.
Nobody knew how he struggled through the day after his nights were consumed by nightmares...
