Snape couldn't believe it when Liliana turned up at his classroom after dinner. "What? Can you not see that I'm busy?" He snapped before looking up and allowing his eyes to meet hers.

He cleared his throat uncomfortably, "Miss Valance.. I apologise I did not realise that it was you..."

"That's ok. I just wondered if you needed help with anything?" She asked plainly, as if it came naturally to her to be in the potion masters presence.

Snape screwed his face up in disbelief.
"Miss Valance, if you are so bored that you wish for detention, maybe you should make some friends. Or possibly hex someone so that a detention can be warranted." Snape groaned, 'what is wrong with this witch?' He asked himself.

"I don't want to get into trouble, and I already have friends!" She scoffed with an innocent smile, "then why on earth are you here offering to assist me with my tedious work?" He demanded, completely bemused.

"I'm here because I enjoy your company." She shrugged.
"Did your parents drop you on your head?" He sighed, before nodding and accepting that it would be far more stressful to kick her out.

"Fine, I'm going to forage for some herbs if you would like to accompany me? Two pairs of eyes are better than one after all. However, it is imperative that you do as asked at all times as the forest is highly dangerous, is that understood?"

"Yes, Professor Snape. It's understood." Liliana smiled, following the wizard from the classroom.

"Oak trees, I love Oak trees.." Liliana sighed dreamily, as she looked around.
"Why do you love that particular type of tree so much?" Snape asked gently, as he spotted some valerian in the distance and headed towards it.

"I just love nature, and Oak trees are just so mighty and regal." Liliana explained, kneeling down beside one to pick up some Lavender.

"I didn't know that we were collecting Lavender, Miss Valance." Snape scoffed as he brushed past her.

"We are not, but i am.. I enjoy the scent on my pillow. It helps me sleep." She grinned, Snape resisted the urge to melt at the sight of her smile and looked away.

"If you have trouble sleeping I can get you some sleeping drafts or dreamless sleep drafts if that's the issue..." he suggested warmly.
"I sleep just fine, i just find that it relaxes me." Liliana chuckled, "thank you for the offer though, I appreciate it."

"Arghhh!" Snape roared in pain, Liliana ran to his side immediately, in a state of complete panic.
"What happened?!" She shrieked, kneeling down beside him and taking a closer look.

"Nothing, I'm quite alright I just snagged my arm on a thorn." He sighed, trying to pull his arm away from her grasp.

"That is not a thorn! Show me! please?" She groaned, pointing at a blood soaked jagged branch.
She pulled his arm back to her and and he froze as he felt her soft hands graze his skin for the first time.

She winced as she saw the blood, "This needs dressing Sir, possibly even stitches.." she gasped, pulling off her sweater and pushing it down onto the wound to stop the bleeding.

"We should go to the hospital wing right now!" She screeched with worry, just as Snape used his other arm to pull her to him.

"We will go, there's no need for you to fret. I can assure you that It's not that deep." Snape whispered gently into her ear, running his other hand up to stroke her cheek.

She turned her head towards him, and all he could see in her perfect green eyes was worry and concern. Genuine concern.

She gently brought her lips to his weathered cheek bone and left a slow and gentle kiss.

"Liliana...." he warned, with the most delicate of whispers. Trying desperately to resist as every single hair on his body began to stand on end.

Just before she could reply, he used his chin to pull her face back to his, taking her plump rose petal coloured lips with his own.

She kissed him back, so softly that he felt the earth stand still. She was perfect in every way and she cared. She truly, unselfishly cared.

"As much as I want this moment to continue.. we need to get this cut seen to." She smiled, breaking away from his kiss and standing up, in a bid to help him to his feet.

He didn't say another word, he just gave her a small, barely there smile. And that sweet smile told her everything that she needed to know.
