That afternoon at Jacee's house
Jacee walked into her house, plopped her backpack on the ground, and spread her homework out on the kitchen table.
She just couldn't think straight though. She couldn't stop thinking about what had happened that morning. Then, her mom walked in from work and Jacee jumped a little.
"Oh hey mom!" Jacee said as her mom put her purse down.
"Hey honey. I have something to tell you..."
"Yeah," Jacee replied. "What is it?"
"I-I lost my job."
"Oh mom... everything's going to be ok. Just tell the whole story."
Jacee's mom told her the whole story, beginning to end.
Jacee said "So what your saying is that you were the least needed for that job. Then somebody better than you came and applied for the same job as you and they took your place?"
"Yes" her mom replied.
"Well I have some news for you too! And it's good news!" Jacee replies.
"What is it?" Her mom asks.
"I got asked to go to prom!"
"By who?!"
"Devin"
"Ohhhh that boy u have been talking about all week!"
"Yeah... that's him!"
"Well that's great honey!" Her mom said.
"I just wished that your day could've went better..." said Jacee gloomily.
