"cole, i'm gonna go. i'm tired and i'm done watching old movies." peyton said, standing up from the couch. cole jumped up and pushed her back down.

"no, no, no, you're not leaving." cole said. "come on, we never hang out anymore."

"okay, what's going on?" peyton asked, putting her hands in her lap.

"i can't tell you that, peyton." cole said. "you're just gonna have to trust me."

"cole, buddy, i love you, but you're acting like a psychopath." peyton said. "you really need a girlfriend."

"i like to think that in another life i do, but that's not the point." cole said. "you can't leave."

"well, i'm going to." peyton stood up again. "please just let me go home."

"uh-" cole stuttered before picking up his wine and throwing it on peyton's shirt.

"cole! are you fucking kidding me!" peyton said, her arms in the air. "i'm going to kill you!"

"well, i'm guess i'm gonna have to wash that." cole said. "i'll get you another shirt." peyton swung for him, but cole ran away before she could hit him.

"you are so dead!" peyton said, sitting back on the couch. cole came back seconds later with an oversized t-shirt and gave it to her. he turned around and peyton changed shirts and she gave the wine stained one to him.

"you're gonna have to stay for another 45 minutes." cole said. "well, an hour and thirty minutes if you want it dried also."

"cole! i just want to go home!" peyton said. "i'll just wash my shirt when i get home."

"oh, too late. it's already in the washer." cole said, sitting next to peyton. she turned and punched his arm; he clutched his arm and yelled out. "ow! okay damn!"

"ugh, i just want to leave." peyton said.

"i know, pey." cole said. "just a little while longer, i promise." peyton groaned and turned on netflix.

"fine, but we're watching parks and rec."

"sounds like a deal." cole chuckled. he turned on the show and threw a blanket over peyton. she thanked him and continued watching the show. cole got up and walked to the kitchen to call kj; he should have been there by now.

he dialed his number and kj answered the phone. "heyo."

"kj! where the hell are you?" cole asked.

"i'm almost there, god, chill." kj said. "i'm going as fast as i can. my meeting with my manager took longer than expected."

"meeting? i thought you were going to call him."

"i tried, but i guess he knew what i was doing and he wanted to talk to me in person." kj said, sounding sad.

"just get over here fast." cole said. "i'm doing everything i can to keep her here."

"okay, okay, i'm coming!" kj said. "bye."

"bye." cole said, hanging up the phone.

"what?" cole heard from the kitchen door. he spun around and found peyton with an angry look on her face. "you're keeping me here because of kj! i can't believe you, cole. god, this is unbelievable. you know that seeing him makes me want to cry, so why would you let this happen?"

"he needs to tell you something." cole said, moving towards peyton. "please, just give him a chance."

"i've run out of chances." peyton said quietly. "he hurt me."
