"So what did you guys talk about?" Jasmine said with a huge grin on her face.

I shook my head at her goofiness.

"None of your business missy." I replied back to her.

Her mouth dropped open.

"Oh come on gimme the deets. I want to know." She stated as we walked back to my dorm.

"Okay, he just offered to help me with school work and stuff like that." I told her.

"Hmmm he's definitely feeling you." She told me.

"Why would he even have a thing for a college girl when he's a grown man?" I asked her.

"I mean I don't see him offering to help anyone else with their school work." She stated giving me side eyes.

I laughed as we finally arrived at my dorm.

"I'll see you later, I'm gonna stop by my dorm before heading to my next class." She told me making me nod my head.

"See ya." I answered back opening my dorm door.

"Bye." She replied back walking off.

Once I entered the dorm Kenzi was already laid out on her bed.

"How was class?" I asked her.

"Boring! Wh0o knew that college classes were gonna be so boring?" She asked me.

"I mean college is just like high school but harder and bigger but my class wasn't that bad." I told her shrugging my shoulders.

I threw my bag on the floor before hopping on my bed and laying down.

"I bet it wasn't because you have that fine piece of chocolate to look at." She told me.

"You right." I busted out laughing making her shake her head.

"I was just playing." I told her.

"I know goofy." She answered back.

I sat there staring at the ceiling and then a thought popped in my head.

"Oh snap, I almost forgot to call my mom." I told her as I grabbed my bag to get my phone out of it.

"You know she's probably worried sick about her baby." Kenzi laughed making me smack her leg.

Once I called her phone ringed for a minute before she picked up.

"About time I get a call from you. You forgot all about your mama now did you?" She questioned me.

I shook my head like she could see me.

"No mom, you know I wouldn't forget my favorite person." I told her making her laugh.

My mother and I are very close. We are inseparable. I guess since I never really had a father in my life I latched onto my mother hoping she'd never abandon me like he did.

"How was your first class? What is it that African diaspora class?" She asked me.

"Yeah, it was okay. It's only the first day." I replied back to her.

"I know, just make sure you stay focus because it's really hard to lose track of things." She told me.

"I will. School is important to me and it always have been. I will stay focus. I promise." I answered back to her.

"Good. Thank you for calling. I know you have a bunch of other stuff you could be doing right now." She said.

"And I'd still rather be talking to you." I said making her chuckle softly.
