The second time I encountered the love of my life was much more embarrassing than I would have expected it to be. It was that day of the month, but it took me a while to realize it.
"Will you stop complaining." Daichi took a habit of mentioning everything that was wrong with our new school, and it got on my nerves very easily.
"I can't. I don't know why we moved!" The moment those words left his mouth he regretted it. I looked at him with distaste.
"Michi, that's-" He was cut off by Sakura.
"Why did you guys move here?" She questioned. We met her shortly after Naruto. I wasn't very excited about her presence in nearly everyone of my classes, but it was not my choice. She had a special affiliation for the Sasuke kid, but it was no different from every other girl at this school.
"Um, it's kinda complicated." Daichi started to explain.
"Does it look like we're going anywhere?" She waved her hand around at the empty study hall. It's true we had nowhere to go. The only people here besides us were Sakura, Neji, and Sai.
"We left because our parents moved here for work." I lied.
"Wait! Are you guys siblings or something?" Sakura questioned.
"No." I cleared up her confusion.
"You could at least try to come up with a good lie." Daichi and I both looked at Sai then a each other. It was bound to come out anyway.
"I ran away." Sakura's eyes slightly widened in surprise.
"Why?" Neji asked as he continued to work. I wasn't the biggest fan of Neji; I found him slightly snotty.
"Because my family is shit. Why do you think people run away!? Michi Harada that's who people see me as- a disappointment." I stated in an annoyed voice. "I might as well have been without one..."
"Harada? That's the richest family in Sunagakure!" I rolled my eyes as she fantasizes about my family.
"She ran away from her responsibilities." Daichi murmured besides me.
"I did not! You guys don't understand. No one does. No one knows what it feels like to have them taken away from you. I-It's like they were murdered, killed right before my eyes..." I could tell Daichi was starting to get emotional about this by the way he gripped onto his pencil. It would snap any second.
"Michi, don't do this." Daichi placed his hand on my shoulder, and I pushed it off.
"I don't have to explain myself to you guys." I stood up and walked out the door, but I met with Sasuke's body.
"Watch where you're going!" We both said at the same time.
"Idiot." I murmured under my breath as I walked away.
Back then I took this encounter as nothing more than another meaningless classmate that I bumped into. The truth is that looking back at it, these are one of the most meaningful moments in my life.
Later in the day we all found ourselves in class. History class taught by Jiraiya. Naruto and him seemed to have a special connection of some sort. It was a student teacher thing.
"Hey, Michi remember that ramen shop that you promised to take me to." I mentally cursed. Daichi had a special knack for getting on my nerves.
"Nope." He frowned once he caught my lie. Yet he somehow noticed every thing about me.
"Well, there's a ramen shop and you're taking me." I groaned in annoyance.
"Okay, sure." I was actually hoping he would forget later.
