The pair awoke with a groan to the incessant buzzing of the apartment's intercom. Genevieve rolled out of the bed and onto the floor, running a hand through her messy hair.
"Who would be here so early?" Stefan groaned.
"I have no idea," she shrugged, laughing to herself as Stefan shoved a pillow over his face when the buzzer rang again. "Who is it?"
"Your favourite big brother. Open up."
Gen was quick to buzz them in, excited to see the faces she hadn't seen in a while. They were outside her door in an instant, engulfing her in tight hugs and peppering her cheeks with kisses as if they hadn't seen her in years.
"Nik! 'Lijah!" She giggled, squeezing them both. She pulled away, her ocean eyes locking with her sisters.
"Gen, I – " the older blonde was cut off by her younger sister throwing her arms around her.
"I missed you all so much," she spoke, unable to wipe the smile off her face after she had pulled away from the hug. "I'm so glad you're here. Come in, come in!"
"After you woke up you just left without a trace," Elijah spoke as he crossed the threshold. "We were worried."
"I'm sorry, I just had to get back here."
"Hey, babe, who was at the door?" Stefan called out from the kitchen.
"Why does that sound like Stefan Salvatore?" Klaus raised his eyebrows. "And why is he calling you babe?"
"Oh my god! Are you and Stefan – "
"Gen, what's going on?" He exited the kitchen wearing nothing but a pair of dark coloured jeans. "What are they doing here?"
"No, it's okay," her eyes locked with his, silently reassuring him. "I want them here."
"After everything they did to you?"
"They're my family, Stefan, always and forever."
After a long moment, the younger Salvatore let out a sigh, "Okay. It's your choice and I respect that."
"Thank you."
"Alright I have a question," Klaus interrupted, a devilish smirk on his plump lips. "What's with you and dating my sisters?"
The two men stared each other down for what seemed like the longest time, the other 3 vampires in the room slightly worried that a fight might break out between them.
And then came Stefan's reply, "Only girlfriend you can't steal."
5 grins broke out on 5 pairs of lips, and suddenly bygones were bygones.
