The pair laid in comfortable bed, bare legs tangled together as Genevieve's slim fingers traced patterns onto his chiseled chest as she simultaneously used him as a pillow.
"I want to get a dog," she abruptly broke the silence that had settled between them. "I'm thinking a husky but I could be persuaded to get a border collie."
"You could always get both."
"I could. But where would I keep them?" She thought aloud. "I can't keep them here. What would I name them?"
Stefan's chest vibrated beneath her as he couldn't help but laugh at her antics.
"Are you laughing at me?" Gen sat up with a pout on her pink lips.
"I would never."
"Good," she leant down, connecting their lips quickly before pulling away. "What are you thinking about?"
"You. Always," he reached up, tucking some hair behind her ear.
"You are so lame," the blonde laughed.
"If you think that's lame then you are going to love this," Stefan sat up next to her. "No, I was just thinking about how we never really made it official. So, will you be my girlfriend?"
"You were right, that was so lame," she shook her head. "But yes, I will be your girlfriend... You know, when we met, I had no idea I would end up falling in love with you."
"I'm glad you had sex with me out of pity that one time, I'm glad I went to that party, I'm glad I eavesdropped on your phone call, hell, I am even glad Elena and Damon got together, because it was all just part of some bigger plan that gave me you." A grin broke out on his face which he was unable to wipe off no matter how hard he tried. "You are the best thing to ever happen to me. I love you."
A light laugh escaped her lips, a genuine smile on her lips as she spoke, "I love you too."
Her words brought him a sense of inner peace; he wanted to hear them over and over again, but only from her lips.
