-Natalie's POV-
"I didn't get anyone pregnant!" Ian exclaimed, "Let alone, Kalel!"
"My sister wouldn't lie to me about something like that, Ian!" I shouted back at him, my voice cracking at the end of my statement. I smacked my forehead and murmured, "Why would you cheat on me? With her?"
"I swear to god, Natalie, that I would never do something like that to you," He tried to convince me, gently grabbing my upper arms and looking directly at me with his brilliant blue eyes.
I shook my head and ripped myself out of his hold, folding my arms over my chest, "But you did."
"I don't remember doing it, though!" He retorted, running his fingers through his hair, "I would remember if I slept with Kalel..."
"Well remember!" I yelled, smacking him across the face. He jerked his head to the side and stayed there for a minute before looking back at me.
"I would if I could, Natalie, but I can't! Because it never happened!" He spat at me. I rolled my eyes in disbelief.
"Well come back when you remember and explain to me why the fuck you would do such a thing like that," I told him, pointing to the front door of the house.
His eyes widened and his jaw dropped, "But, Natalie!"
"JUST LEAVE!" I screamed. He shook his head and dragged himself out the front door. I slammed the door shut behind him and heaved a sigh, leaning against the closed door. I covered my face with my hands as I began to cry. Why would he do a thing like that?
-Anthony's POV-
I was sitting at the dining table, doing some things on my laptop while feeding Lucy in her high-chair at the same time. Kalel walked up behind me and rested her arms on the back of the chair, "I'm sorry, Anthony."
"I don't want to talk to you right now, Kalel," I told her, glancing up at her over my shoulder.
"But we can't keep ignoring it! I'm pregnant for crying out loud!" She exclaimed, pulling out the chair adjacent to me and sitting down, "You've got to forgive me, Anthony. I make mistakes."
"Sleeping with someone else and getting pregnant once is a mistake," I retorted, returning my attention to Lucy who managed to throw some of her baby food at my laptop, "Sleeping with someone else, who happens to be my best friend, and getting pregnant twice, it's...it's not a mistake!"
"Yes it is, Anthony!"
I glanced over at her, "Is there something wrong with me?" I genuinely inquired, "Is there something about me that makes you go and find comfort, love, and affection from other men?"
"No!"
I scoffed, "Then why?" I slammed the spoon I was using down on the table and rose to my feet, "Because I'm starting to think that your whole speech at my house about you being happy with me was just total bullshit."
"It wasn't!" She cried, standing up so she was eye level with me.
I shook my head, "It so is! Because if you were truly happy with me, you wouldn't have slept with Ian!" I turned away from her, "He's my best friend, Kalel. What the hell were you doing with him anyways?"
"I had no control over what was happening, Anthony," She defended herself, walking in front of me and looking up at me, "We were both drunk and..."
"Oh yeah, like I totally believe that..." I made my way around her and into the kitchen.
"You've got to, Anthony! Please!" Kalel begged.
Just then, there was a knock on the front door. Kalel said she'd get it while I pulled out a beer from the fridge and popped the top off. I heard her scream under her breath, "No, you've got to go. Now!" I peeked my head out from where I was to see Ian standing in the doorway. He noticed me and Kalel turned around, gasping.
"What are you doing here, Ian?" I questioned.
"Natalie kicked me out and I need a place to stay," He explained, heaving a sigh, "You're my best friend and..."
I laughed, "We're not best friends anymore, you asshole." A look of hurt swept over Ian's face.
"Please, man, I have no where else to go!" He pleaded.
"You're not staying here!" I shouted at him.
"Anthony!" Kalel cried.
"No! You'll just sleep together again!" I yelled accusingly.
"I didn't sleep with her!" Ian screamed back at me. Kalel looked over at him and frowned.
I glared at him, "Just leave, Ian. And never come back. I never want to see you again." I turned around and picked up Lucy from her high-chair and taking her to her crib. I laid her down and sighed, resting my arms on the side and looking down at her. I smirked and pushed the little hair she had out of her face, "You're the only good thing that's come out of all of this, Lucy."
-Rachael's POV-
Andrew and I were working on packing. We were leaving in two days. The closer and closer the date got, the more and more I dreaded it. I wasn't ready to move, but Andrew was all for it. And I wouldn't want to lose him for a second time.
Now, I know he cheated on me and all that, but he's really proved to me that he cares about me and wants the best for me...Okay, let's face it, that's a total lie. He hasn't changed his ways at all. And I'm almost positive that he could care less about me or what's best for me. But...he somehow reminds me every day that this is what's going to make me happier. And somehow each time I believe him...for a split second.
"Hey, did you hear that?" Andrew inquired, looking over his shoulder from cleaning out the cabinets with our pots and pans.
"Hear what?" I retorted, stuffing the cardboard box in front of me with video games.
"I swear I heard someone knock on our door..." He got up and approached the door. He answered it and greeted, "Ian?"
"Ian?" I repeated, looking up and seeing Andrew was right. "Ian...what are you doing here?" I walked up behind Andrew and kind of hid behind him.
"I need a place to stay," He retorted with a sigh, "I know what you're going to say. 'What happened?' Long story short, Natalie kicked me out because of you two." I titled my head down, knowing exactly what he was talking about. He continued, "I've already tried some others and they all told me that I couldn't stay. So I'm begging you guys, please let me stay here."
Andrew cleared his throat and said, "Look, man, we're moving and..."
"Let me guess, 'Just leave'?" He sounded as if he already heard it many of times before, "Don't worry, I understand..." He turned around and began to walk down the hall.
"Wait!" I called, pushing Andrew out of the way and stepping out in the hallway. He stopped in his tracks and looked back at me, "You can stay here. But we're leaving in two days, so..."
He turned around, "You're serious? You'll let me stay with you?"
"I...I don't see why not," I remarked.
Andrew stepped out as well and whispered into my ear, "Are you crazy? Your sister's husband slept with your enemy! And you're going to let him stay with us?"
"We're leaving in a few days, Andrew," I retorted quietly, looking up at him, "What's the harm in letting him stay until then?"
He was about to give me an answer when Ian pulled me into an unexpected hug. "You're the best sister-in-law ever," Ian said, stepping out of the embrace and walking into the apartment. Andrew glared at me before following him in.
"And maybe with him staying, we'll stay in California a little longer..." I mumbled to myself before going into the apartment and closing the door behind me.
