ONE YEAR LATER...
-Natalie's POV-
Rachael was sitting in front of the vanity, staring at herself in the mirror. I didn't know what she was thinking by the look on her face. Was it that she was getting married to the YouTuber she's had a crush on since I can remember? I mean, I wouldn't blame her, I'm still kind of in shock that I'm married to Ian. Or was it that she was getting married for the second time? It's not everyday that you get married twice.
As I was placing the clip of the sheer white veil in her curly, dirty blonde hair, she asked me, "Nat, what if something happens like last time?" She looked up at me in the mirror, "What if he confesses to something terrible?"
I laughed and replied in a sassy tone, "Giiiiiiirl, if something happens like last time and he confesses to something terrible...then...well, you're fucked." She jerked around so she was facing me and gave me a worried expression. I crossed my arms, "Calm down, Rach, I'm joking. I can assure you that something like what happened last time won't happen again."
"How can you be so sure?"
"Yo! Hurry up!" Kenya called as she opened the door, behind her stood Sara, "People are getting wild out there."
"We'll be out in a few minutes," Rachael told her friends. Kenya nodded her head and walked away. Rachael got up from the chair and patted the puffy bottom of her wedding dress down. She started looking around and getting worried before asking, "Where's my bouquet?"
I walked over to her vanity and picked up the bouquet, "Right in plain sight, you idiot," She walked over to me and snatched it from my hands. "You've got to calm down, Rach."
She just stared at me before picking up her dress and exiting the room. I followed behind her out to the entryway of the church she and Anthony were getting married in, where my dad was waiting as well as all of the bridesmaids and groomsmen. I left Rachael to meet up with Ian.
"Hey there," He greeted as the two of us linked arms.
"Hi," I looked up at him and grinned.
The doors swung open and the organ music started playing. Lucy, who was the flower girl, walked down the aisle, throwing flowers left and right. Everyone followed behind her. We got ourselves arranged at the altar and the priest cleared his throat.
"Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today..." He began.
-Anthony's POV-
As I stood at the altar, holding Rachael's hands in mine, not really listening to what the priest was saying, I began scanning the church for familiar faces. I forgot who said they were coming and who said they weren't.
In the front row sat Rachael's parents, who on her mom's lap sat Natalie and Ian's five month old son, Patrick. Next to them were my parents, and in between them, Lucy. Behind them and pretty much all everywhere else in the church were a bunch of people who I had no idea who they were. So then I directed my attention to the bridesmaids behind Rachael. Obviously there was Natalie, and behind her were Sara and Kenya, but behind them stood Melanie and Kalel.
Speaking of Melanie, she and Toby had gotten married at the courthouse. Nobody knew about their engagement until they invited the six of us to come to the court with them (the six of us being Natalie, Ian, Kalel, Joey, Rachael, and me). Something about how they didn't want to make a big deal out of it, I guess.
As for Kalel, she returned back to California shortly after Rachael and I did. Sadly, we were told the baby that tore the group apart once more hadn't survived. But on the bright side, Natalie and Ian were expecting. And Kalel was back in California, hopefully this time for good. The only bad part was that she was with Joey...but I was with Rachael. So I shouldn't have care about that. And I didn't.
I then glanced over my shoulder to see my groomsmen - Ian, my brother, Shane Dawson, Toby, and Joey.
"Mr. Padilla!" Someone shouted my name. I snapped out of the daze I had gone into. It was the priest, "Do you?"
"Do I what?" I asked.
He rolled his eyes and repeated what he must've said before, "Anthony, do you take Rachael to be your wedded wife to live together in marriage? Do you promise to love her, comfort her, honor, and keep her for better or worse, for richer or poorer, in sickness and health, and forsaking all others, be faithful only to her, for as long as you both shall live?"
"I do," I said, looking over at Rachael and smiling.
"And do you, Rachael, take Anthony to be your wedded husband to-"
"Yes, I do," Rachael cut him off. Laughter filled the church as she blushed a bright red color. It'd been almost two hours that we'd been standing here and I could tell she was getting impatient.
"By the authority vested in me by the State of California, I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride." I pulled Rachael close to me and the two of us kissed. "Ladies and gentleman, Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Padilla!" He exclaimed. Applause filled the air as Rachael and I started down the aisle.
*****
We were at the venue for the reception.
It was pretty late and a lot of people had already left. Ian and Natalie left to put Patrick to bed. Kalel and Joey took Lucy home because she was getting whiny from staying up past her bedtime. Other guests had left to get some sleep before catching their flights back to their homes half way across the country.
The people who were still remaining were either sitting at the tables, talking amongst each other or sitting at the open bar we provided, drinking that extra glass of champagne they didn't really need. As for Rachael and I, we were on the dance floor as the DJ played a slower song. What we were doing wouldn't even be considered slow dancing, all we did was barely sway side to side as we spun slowly in a circle. Her head was resting on my shoulder and my arms were wrapped around her waist as I held her close.
"So this is it?" She asked me softly.
I smirked, "Yeah...this is it."
