tick tock
tick tock
goes the clock
yet when
a rap
rap
rapping
is read
no one cares to hear
a class filled with dissidents
or so you say
tell me you ever talk to a delinquent
and try to get into his heart
ever try to ask the whore want her mother does
and when you see there lives do you really think that poem matters
do you think that is what matters to them
do you think it even should take a second of their time
do you
do you know the pain in some of their hearts
and how dare you say
well this girl
this boy
gets all A's
well who gives a damn
where was his struggle
born gifted
oh that's great
yet you never prepared him to deal with struggle
to deal with pain
you pathetic teacher
stare them in the face
and they will make you pay
for the pain in their eyes is overwhelming
when you find it past the wood in front of you
now with the gifted what do you say
what do you see
did you ever see them struggle
no
oh well then guess what
you know who failed
you
not them
you hurt them
make them struggle
little by little
bit by bit
build them with breaking
cause their struggles
their pains
will be just as great as their greatness
that is something that will always
equate
