Swallow Me Down
The pills wouldn't last
Soon you will feel down
Drowning yourself in self pity
You swallowed me down hard
The taste bitter in your mouth
It was all wrong
And you knew it
We were both floating in the same boat
Both wanting to be on a high
But what I didn’t know
It was only temporary to you
Forever a drug – only needed when time says so
Only needed when the thoughts come rushing back
Only needed when no one else will care
I care
And I wish I didn’t
Oh, how I wish I didn’t
