Her heart is heavy
And her mouth is full of words
That she has been keeping in
Because she feels as if she has to
But when it is too much
When her mouth overflows
With these words that haunt her at night
She decides to tell you
And she feels as if you have left her
For you have new friends
And as she finally has the guts
To let you in
You become helpless
Her heart is heavy
And her mouth is open
Yet you let those words become bitter
You let her heart become cold
You act as if she is not important
And for this,
Her disease worsens
But you’ll never know
And she’ll never tell you
That you out of all people
Let her down
Because if you, her only friend, act as if her problem was nothing
Then who else could she go to
Who else would care?
She doesn’t blame you
But she wishes that you would feel guilty
Because she almost died
And you did nothing about it
Except to say,
‘I’m sorry’
And sometimes sorry isn’t enough
