The next few days after the 'incident' went surprisingly smoothly. I occasionally saw tord in the hallways and spoke to him for a while, everytime he smiled made my heart a little warmer. Days went by and I felt more energized everyday. Knowing that I would get to see my new 'little friend.' heheheheheheA week went by and me and three others were sitting in class queit. One of them was quietly drawing in the corner of the room, the other had her buds in and was listening to moderately loud music. I ooked back at my books, whenever I was stressed or bored I usually play my bass, or read. I red very rarely. The teacher came in soon after, smiling wide and cheerful, not usually like most teachers. She walked over to her desk and took a seat, explaining to us that she was tried today and that we should copy a few pages from our books before we could have free time. I was excited for free time, because it meant I could see tord in the hallway. I opened the textooks, realizing how big they were, and let out a soft sigh.
After a few painful hours of copying, the teacher let us turn in our work and have free time. I did a small victory dance, and then asked to be excused, she was reluctant, but allowed me to leave. I sprinted out of my chair and down the hallway. Just as I suspected, tord was standing by his locker staring into space. His eyes were closed and focused, concentrating on nothing. I walked up to him and breafly touched his shoulder before backing away. His eyes opened and he swung around quick. Clearly he was surprised somebody was there. He let out a long sigh, before turning back around and smiling.
"Hallo Thomas.." he spoke deep this time, which was rare for him. I smiled and waved. He took this opportunity to open his locker and pull something out. It was small and thin, like a letter, with red covering, and a black trim. He handed it to me, smiling kindly. scanned his face for a minute before gripping the small piece of paper. I stared at it, wondering what it was.
"I-it's something that I made, take it as a thank you gift for what you've down for me" he said kindly, his voice returning to its usuall high self. I smiled and held it close, thinking all the best. I thanked him, and we parted ways. I wondered what might've been inside, what he was so happy abut, how he blushed every time I spoke. His voice was heart warming, his eyes were soothing, his smile drove me crazy, and his laugh sent me to paradise. Of course I could tell him anything, he would think I was a freak, like everyone else. I found my class and opened the door to return to whatever free time we had left.
Classes went by in a flash, as I kept on thinking what wasa inside the little box of joy I got from my small norksi friend. The last bell echoed throught the school, as the student piled into the hallways to leave. In the hallways, on the bus, even the walk back to dorm, it went by so fast. My mind wandered as by body moved.
I sat at my desk, indigo walls setting the mood in the queit room. I decided to open his letter, and pulled it out of the drawer. I shuffled it in my hands for a second, wondering once again what it could be. I ripped the lining of the paper, and pulled out a smaller piece of paper. I rolled my eyes and read the note that was on the smaller piece.
'Dear Jehovahs Witness', I rolled my eyes reading that first line.
'I wanted to say thank you for everything you've done for me, Ive had to change multiple schools because of the same thing. Remember what happened to me in the hallway a week ago? imagine that, times ten.
I just wanted say that I'm alright, and thanks to you I feel better than I ever had before. If you're up for it, meet me by the junkyard a mile from school on Friday. I have something else for you.
Thank you'
Little Friend,
TordI stared at the last part for what seemed like hours, did he really except that name? I felt my lips curl into a smile. He really did drive me crazy, but not the bad kind, a new kind of crazy.
