I stand in front of my closet mirror, wondering how I should dress. Someone knocks on my door, and opens it a second later.
"What you getting ready for, Mitsuki?" My mom asks.
"I'm gonna hang out with Rino and his parents."
"Ohh, the new neighbours?"
"Yeah, how do you know?" I ask, puzzled.
"They came over, when they first moved in. They're really nice people. Does this mean there is something going on, since you're meeting his parents..?"
"No, no nothing like that. I'll explain that later." I say, looking through my closet.
"Do you need help?"
"No, I'm all good."
"I'll leave you to it." She says, closing the door behind her. My phone starts ringing and I see it's Trihn calling me.
"Hey, I'm kinda busy right now." I say, as I'm putting my pants on.
"Yeah, I know you're getting ready for dinner with Rino and his parents." She says.
"Wait, how do you know?"
"Rino told me, he asked me if he should ask you to come over to his house." She says. "It seems like he really cares about you."
"Oh."
"Mitsuki, I know you don't wanna be in a relationship, after what happened with your family last year, but I really think he's good for you."
"Okay, well I gotta go so see you at school tomorrow." I say, quickly hanging up.
I'm standing at the front of Rino's front door. I look at what I'm wearing once more, which is a dark red button up, and some black pants with some Vans, which I should probably have changed before. I ring the doorbell as my heart is going faster and faster.
"You must be Mitsuki, I've heard so much about you, please come in." Rino's mom says.
"Nice to meet you Mrs. Randles." I say.
"Love, Mitsuki is here." She yells out. "Oh and please you can call me Amanda."
Another women, comes from upstairs with Rino behind her, she comes and kisses Amanda on the cheek and introduces herself to me. We all have dinner together, it was pretty normal. I'm just glad they didn't ask any questions about Rino and I, but once we finish dinner, Rino's mom ask if I wanna watch a movie with them.
"I'm sure they want to be by themselves, go watch a movie in your room Rino." Amanda says.
"Really? Okay, c'mon Mitsuki." He says pulling my hand.
"But don't do any funny business you guys." Payton yells as we're going upstairs.
"Nice room." I say, looking around.
"Thanks, you can sit if you want." He says, as he looks through movies to watch.
"You wanna watch this one?" He holds up a movie called, If I stay.
"So you're into Romance movies?" I ask.
"Actually, no. But it's one of my mom's favorites and they've been begging me to watch it." He says. "I mostly enjoy Horror and Comedy movies."
"Yeah, same here. But I guess that one is fine." I say.
He puts the movie in, and jumps onto the bed. From the beginning of the movie I'm so interested with everything. I think Rino says something, but I was too distracted to hear what he said, so I just nod. His lips are suddently on mine, it takes me a moment, but I push him away.
"What are you doing?" I ask.
"I asked you if I can kiss you and you nodded."
"I didn't, well I was distracted by the movie." I say, getting up from the bed, opening the door.
"Sorry Mitsuki, but when it comes to you I can't keep my calm." He says closing the door. He kisses me again as I'm pinned against the door. I think about pulling him in, but I remember the phone call earlier and push him away once again.
"Stay the hell away from me." I say, opening the door.
"But Mitsuki-"
I close the door and run down the stairs as I see Amanda and Payton, giving me a concerned looked.
"What's wrong?" Amanda says, coming up to me.
"You should probably ask Rino about that, he kinda lied to you." I say without thinking, and walk out the house.
I run to my house, as a lot is going through my mind, I open the front door and I quickly get upstairs as I hear my mom asking me what had happened. I ignore her and lock the door.
'What the fuck is wrong with me?' I kick the wall causing a frame to fall and break. 'I'm sorry Jamie' I say with tears in my eyes as I look at the picture frame.
