It's the weekend, I wake up and see text messages from my friends, saying that Danny has gone home and he's doing well. I jump into the shower and take a long hot shower. Getting out, I put my boxers on and my pants, noticing I forgot to get a shirt. I'm walking to my room, when I hear the door ring, thinking it my mom, I go and open it seeing Rino.
"Ohh, hey Rino." I say, confused. He says nothing, as he's staring at me. "Right, I forgot my shirt, I'll be right back." I go upstairs, putting a black shirt on and going back down.
"So what brings you here?" I ask, by the door.
"My mom's wanted me to bring you some cookies, they bake a lot." He says, giving them to me.
"Thanks." I say, as he's still standing there. "Um do you wanna come in for a while?"
"Yeah, that be great." He says, coming inside.
We sit in the living room, as we drink some lemonade. As time passes by we're suddently challenging each other at video games as we're playing.
"You want something to eat?" I ask him, putting the control down.
"Yeah, sure."
"We have pizza, so I'll warm that up for us." I say, getting up from the couch.
"So where are your parents at?" He asks.
"Well, my mom is a lawyer, so she's probably busy with a case right now, and my dad well I haven't see him in a while." I say.
"Ohh, sorry about your dad."
"It's fine." I say, giving him a pizza. "What do your mom's do?"
"One of them, owns a bakery down town, and the other is a professor."
"Why'd you guys move over here?" I ask.
"Long story short, the neighbours didn't like them or us."
"Ohhh, yeaah. I can relate to that in someways." I say.
Finishing our pizza, I decide to show Rino around the house.
"Is this your room?" He asks.
"Yeah, pretty much."
"Wow, it's huge." He says, going inside.
"Yeah. You can sit down if you want." I say, sitting on the small carpet, as he sits on the bed.
"Mitsuki, what were you gonna tell me the day we went to see the fireworks?" Rino asks.
"Ohh, well it doesn't really matter."
"Why not?"
"I don't know, it just doesn't I guess."
"I felt like it was something important."
My heart is beating like crazy, as he's asking about this. A part of me wants to tell him, but what am I expecting to happen? To get in a relationship with him? If I just leave it how it is then he might keep asking about that night.
I get up and put my face close to Rino and suddently pull him in a kiss. At first, he's stiff but he wraps his arms around my neck.
"Is this what you wanted to tell me?" He asks with a smile.
"I guess so."
"I won't let go of you or have anyone else have you, even Danny." He says, pulling me in.
"Wait, what do you mean by Danny?" I ask, before he can do anything.
"Danny likes you."
"What makes you think that?"
"The way he looks at you and at the hospital he told me basically." Rino says.
"He doesn't like me, he's been my friend since last year."
"In the hospital, he told me that I shouldn't get close to you, he's practically jealous."
"Yeah, he said that because he thinks your no good." I say.
"Exactly, he's jealous which means he likes you." He says. I say nothing, as I just stare at the window.
"Well I get why he would..." Rino says, as he's about to kiss me.
"Sorry, but I think my mom is coming home soon, so can you leave?" I say, getting up.
"Yeah, okay. I'll text you." He says, as I walk him out.
"Bye." I say, closing the door. I sit on the couch, thinking about what just happened. I get my phone out and ask if I can come over today to talk about something and send it to Danny.
