I groan as I'm walking to school, this week has been going so freaking slow. I'm sliding my feet against the ground and my eyes feel heavy, since I didn't get any sleep last night after all that had happened. As I'm walking towards the school entrance now, I see Rino, but he's talking to all my friends, they look like their having a serious talk, which I don't wanna get into right now, so I just slide past them and into the school.
"Hey dude." Says Danny as he's walking beside me. "You don't look okay."
"Yeah, didn't get any sleep last night..."
"Because of what happened with Rino?"
"Don't tell me that's what you guys we're talking about..." I quietly say.
"Yeah, he was like asking for advice from us." He says. "I'm sorry about what happened, gotta be hard."
"I know you guys want me to be in a relationship with Rino but-"
"Yeah, I get it. I'm on your side Mitsuki. I think Rino isn't good for you, he's practically forcing himself on you, I suggest you stop talking to him." He says.
"Thanks, but it's not that easy, he's kinda my new neighbour now."
"Oh wow, I didn't know. Well if he tries doing anything else, just tell me alright? I'm not being fooled by him." He says, as he walks off.
It's my second period, which means Rino is in it. I know he wants to talk to me, since he keeps looking over his shoulder to me. I really don't want to talk to him after class, with 15 minutes left, I decided to fake like I'm going to throw up, to go to the nurses office.
It worked perfectly, I'm laying in the nurses office, as I'm about to fall asleep, but I hear the door open.
"Mitsuki, are you okay?" Rino says coming up to me.
"Yeah, I'm fine."
"You don't look fine." He sits next to me as I'm still laying down. I turn the other way, but he puts his hand on my cheek and turns my head to him.
"Mitsuki, I heard you we're sick, are you- ohh Rino, what are you doing here?" Danny asks.
"Just checking in on him." Rino says, getting up.
"Okay, well I think he should get some sleep, so you should go."
"After you." Rino says, opening the door.
Once they both leave, I get my phone out and text Danny thank you. I soon close my eyes and fall straight asleep.
I open my eyes, as I'm hear a familiar voice, it's my mom.
"Mom?"
"Hey honey, the nurse called me and I decided to come pick you up. I already got your work from your last class." She says, holding it.
I honestly don't know how lucky I was, to have her as my mom. She protected me when I came out to my dad, which caused a lot of problems including him leaving us which hurt the whole family. That was a tough part of my life, our family falling apart right before Jamie left me. It felt like everything was falling to pieces at the tip of my hand. But thankfully I had her, which I'm never going to forget about.
"Thanks." I get up, and we walk out the nurses office and through the school entrance.
We get home, and before I can run off to my room, she tells me to sit down in the living room.
"What's going on?" She says, sitting next to me.
"Nothing much."
"Well, it seems like every since Rino has moved here, you seem mad."
"Mom, there is something's going on, but nothing too serious. I'm all good." I say, getting up.
"Okay, I hope you're hungry, I'm making spaghetti." She says, smiling.
"Thanks, I'll be upstairs."
As I'm working on the work I have for homework now, I get a text message from a group chat I'm in with the rest of my friends. They say there is an event going on at some park and we should go together. Finally, I agree to go knowing that Rino won't be there because he isn't in this group chat, it will be like old times. The five of us, adventuring somewhere, and having a good time.
