White's P.O.V.

Blood.

I knew it.

"How can I live this kind of life if I keep on smelling that kind of thing?" I whispered.

I used to be a human. My life as a Mortal prince was satisfactory. They said that I was the best for her. I used to believe in that too.

"Hey, White! Let's play one on one," a teenager called me. How annoying. I scoffed as I saw my beloved cousin. He had the most spine chilling smile. He looked like a criminal for me since many girls would want to lose their sacredness to this guy. Well, I couldn't blame them, even Scythe thought that he was handsome but could be even better if he hadn't tried to kill her.

"I must decline, I apologized," I gave him a small smile.

"Aww, don't be so formal. After your break up with Ms.I-am-so-great-wanna-kiss-my-ass-oh-no-you're-not-worthy, you become the most perfect gentleman,"

"I'll take the that as a compliment,"

He sighed. He scratch the back of his neck. "Look,everybody in our family are concerned about you. They have been thinking if you can still live on. I hate to say this but, White you need to know that her new lover will come here, "

I knew that but I couldn't help to feel betrayed for the millionth time. 

"That's a good thing to hear,"

Crosspholso looked at me with pity. I hated that kind of thing. But I couldn't be rude to him. I am a gentleman not a broken one.

"White, I know nothing about what happened between the two of you except for the fact that you're no longer a human. I'm right when I tried to kill her, she's not a human. She's simply a monster just liked her  mom who disappeared without any trace."

"Crosspholso, we don't have any rights to talk behind her. Scythe is the heiress of our family, we can't just set that aside. Please, refrain from exposing her secrets. If some rumors reach the media, it will be problematic and if you're the one behind it, I will not hesitate to make some muderous measures to silence you. "

That made him shut up. I sighed. I didn't like making that kind of atmosphere. I apologized for my unwanted rudeness.

"I like to take my leave, " I bowed and went on with my duty.

I walked towards Scythe's room. I would be a liar if I don't admit that I miss being her number one. I knew the risks when I asked her hand. I thought I would be her last. But I forgot that she was a very playful one. She seemed happy when she was with me. She used to say that beside me was the safest place she could ever had. All of her sweet cold words were still burned in my mind. I couldn't help but to drown in the past.

I could still remember everything about  her.

I was the only one who could understand her.

I was her number one.

But why was I not good enough?

My princess was dancing with a red dress in her hands. She looked happy while looking at the dress. She hugged it every once in a while. I guessed , she didn't sense I was already there. But that was impossible! I knew she was purposely letting me see her liked that.

"Oh, you're no fun, White." She laughed. She stopped dancing. She put down the dress.

I gave her a bow, "What a nice day you're having, Lady Scythe, "I only heard her chuckle.  "Your father want to see you. He send me here to escort you. "

I tried to look at her eyes but it still hurt me to remember that I used to be her man.

"White, you know from the very start that I can't marry you. We have the same blood and both of us are carrying the name Mortal. "

For the second time, I tried to look at her. I was shocked to see pain in her eyes. It looked like she was reminiscing about our past. She was clenching on her chest.

"White, my sin to you never left my conscience. Everyday, it feels like a part of me is rottening slowly. If I have the power to go back, I will. I want to correct everything." She looked at me as if she was also suffering from our past. "I want to erase all your pain. White, my time here is already at its limit. I want you to be happy before I disappear."

I couldn't help but to react to the word disappear.

"Scythe, don't tell me you're going to die."

She smiled sadly.

"I hate to admit but I am not a perfect monster. I need to die to go find where I truly belong. Remember, when I ask you if you want to die or to live on. You said you wanted to die, I didn't tell anyone but you did die, I just brought to back to life as an impotent vampire. Your human soul is already back to Ksmilx, the world where I fit in."

"Really?" I asked. I was really starting to panic. "Then, if you're going away, should you bear the family a successor? I mean you can't go away without leaving us a productive one. "

I frowned. I felt liked I ruined some thing. I waited for her outburst

"Great. Just great! You just destroyed the mood I was making. What the hell are you saying about bearing a child. I am only turning eighteen and you want me to be a mom right away? What am I a baby maker?Pathetic, I thought I can make you cry then say I'm just kidding." She out breathed.

She looked at me with a glint in her eyes. She seemed to be entertained for some reason. "Well, I still like your expression right now," She laughed.

"Lady Scythe, would you stop your habit? It's creepy enough to give me some goosebumps."

She rolled her eyes. "Alright, but you know what, you're all better when you're not that formal. I wish you can stay innocent and honest." She snickered. "Oh, well, I'm sorry. I forgot I was the one who corrupted you."

I hated this lady. But I did love her.
