Slowly I opened my eyes, the light burned my eyes. At the moment, I have no clue where I am, all I know is that I'm in a lot of pain. Carefully I sat up and looked around the room, I'm in the school infirmary. I notice a person was resting their head on my leg, I lean forward and brush their hair out of their face. The person groaned and sat up to face me.
"Jessica?" I blurted out without thinking.
"Huh?" She said rubbing her eyes, then looking at me.
Just that single look made my face heat up. She looked so innocent and at peace when she was sleeping.
"Did you bring me here?" I ask in a dazed voice.
"No, Adrian found you. We still don't know who beat the crap out of you. So we decided to wait until you woke up to ask. Who did this to you?" Jessica asked, putting her hand on my face.
"I-It was no one." I say pushing her hand away.
As much as I want her to know that Dean did this, I don't want to break her heart by telling her. Dean is an asshole but no one can tell, he hides it behind his good looks and charming nature. I guess only I can see the truth. Gosh, I wish he'd disappear.
I went back to class after spending what felt like a few hours in the nurse's office. So far I haven't seen Dean. I took small light steps and find my way to my seat right next to Adrian.
"Hey. Are you alright?" Adrian says, looking concerned.
I nod and look down at my notebook. The entire classroom was much louder than usual, which is almost normal when it's almost friday. Time felt like it was moving so much slower as I looked at the clock, waiting, anticipating when the last bell will ring. Finally after what felt like forever, it rang. I wasted no time. I sprinted to my locker, grabbed my books, then bolted out the doors.

Morning took forever to arrive. I sat up in my bed and scratched my head. My mind was racing.
"Would Dean be waiting for me at school? Am I going to the party?" I asked myself as I walked down to the kitchen.
I shook my head. Nope, I'm not risking getting my ass kicked again. So I pulled out my phone.

I'm not going to school today. I don't feel well. Do you mind getting the homework for me?

Since when did you do homework? Anyway, feel better. If you feel better later you should head over to Aaron's party.
Jessica is going to that party with Dean, I guess she knew that another girl would instantly take her place if she said no.

My entire day I've been sitting on the couch watching whatever came on. It was so boring, but I guess it's better than getting beaten up. I turned my head over to the digital clock that sat on the coffee table. It read "7: 30 PM." Has time really passed that fast? I guess the party will be underway soon. Suddenly, my phone screen lights up.
