The things I did at night are exactly the same as what I did during the day. Just lounging around the house, living on my own wasn't as bad as I expected. Without my parents nagging me to do something I'm free to do whatever I please. Time seems to fly when you're mindlessly doing something like watching television. Even though I'm enjoying living alone I can't say that I'm not lonely. Ever since I lost my girlfriend I can't help but wonder if I'd ever find love again. Time is ticking by; 7:40, 8:00, 8:15, 8:30.... I stopped, my phone vibrated on the table.

Incoming call from Jessica...

I hit answer, waiting to hear her speak.

"Marcus." I heard her voice, it sounded weak, upset. "Marcus, can you come and get me from Aaron;s house." she sniffled.

"I'll be there in a few minutes Jessica." I said hanging up and rushing out of the house.

I ran out to see my gray sedan still sitting in my driveway. I got in and turned the keys. The drive there was short but then again I was rushing to get there. My car stopped ran in front of the house. You could hear the music two blocks away and the air reeked of weed and beer. Does that surprise me? No. I opened the car door and stood outside it scanning the property from Jessica. She ran off the steps and hugged me.

"Thank you for coming to get me." Jessica stated wiping her eyes.

I smiled and we both get into the car and drove off. We drove over to my house and I got out. She looked at me concerned.

"I'm not going to do anything to you. I won't hurt you." I reassured her.

She walked out of the car and walked to my front door. I unlocked it, and we walked in. I closed the door behind me.

"Where's your bathroom? I need to clean up a bit."

"It's down the hall and to the right." I stated facing away from her.

I heard her walk down the hall as I placed a frozen pizza in the oven.

Something seems off I'm not sure what it is, maybe I should go check on Jessica. She has been in the bathroom for a while now. I decided to go check on her, and walked over to the bathroom door.

"Jessica? Are you okay in there?" I asked, knocking on the door.

I got no response, only crying and sniffling.

"Jessica? Jessica!"

Still no answer. I jiggled the doorknob and the door opened. Jessica jumped and still was leaning over the sink. Over her shoulder I could see what she was holding, she moved the object back to her forearm.

"Jessica no!" I yelled knocking the knife from her hand.

Jessica was pushing me trying to pick up the knife. I kept pulling her backwards, through all of the commotion I ended up grabbing her wrists. She yelped in pain, I loosened my grip and moved her back.

"Why? Why did you stop me? I have no place here anyways, after Dean kicked me out he said that he'd kill me by monday. I figured I should kill myself before he can." she said, calmly.

"But you don't have t-" I barely got my sentence out.

"WHY THE HELL SHOULD YOU CARE?!" Jess exclaimed loudly.

"BECAUSE I LOVE YOU!!"

Her face instantly went bright red. I held my breath as I looked at her, then I lost control of my body, it acted on it's own. I kissed her, Jessica's body was tense at first then loosened up.
