Alfred felt a twinge of panic, of course, he had conjured up the idea that a scenario like this would pop up to fuck him over.

'No worries Alfred. Just play it cool,' He slowly blinked and let his expression change to a form of shyness and vulnerability. 'Let's give a show.'

He looked away letting his slightly pale cheeks heat up. "I-I guess I'm caught red handed aren't I?"

Ivan raised an eyebrow and relaxed slightly as Alfred continued.

Alfred stammered at the beginning, "You...You see the thing..the thing is that I, well, because I'm so shy I couldn't talk to you... so I followed you to your work in hopes of getting the courage to try!" He almost yelled at the Russian.

Ivan was caught off guard by the response, as he put up his hands to try and ease the guy.

"No need to be so defensive. I just wanted to make sure you weren't trying to stalk my boss Toris." He added softly.

Alfred mentally gagged at the name that had to come from his dream boats mouth. 'Why would he be stalked?' Of course, Alfred kept his expression and simply asked, "His stalker?"

Ivan rubbed the back of his neck and looked around before his violet eyes softened. "This will be between us da?"

Alfred mentally squealed with delight. 'Oh God, our first shared secret!'

"Yeah of course. What is it?" Alfred pressed.

Ivan nodded. "Well, Toris has been repeatedly mistaken a woman. His haircut doesn't help, but he called me in after having issues with some creeps who would follow him back to the shop. So anytime I see someone slightly mysterious, well..." his words drifted off as if saying catch his drift.

Alfred looked at Ivan and smiled before gently patting his arm. "I understand. No worries."

Ivan stared at him with a surprised expression before he quickly changed the topic. "So why don't I drive you home? It's getting late." He added.

Alfred hummed and slowly stood up carefully. "Nah it's okay. I'll just use Uber to get home-"

"-And make you pay for a ride after I hurt your ankle? Nyet. I will take you home." Ivan casually argued whilst cutting Alfred off.

For a moment Alfred almost couldn't hold back his smug grin but he forced composure over his giddy self.

The car ride, which was the shops' van, was quiet and nerve racking. It would be bad for any maidens heart.

When they reached the rather old apartment complex, Ivan scanned around rather nervously. "You really live here?"

Alfred scoffed jokingly, "Sorry I'm a poor college student."

Ivan quickly apologized, "Ah-! I didn't mean to insult you!"

Alfred waved his hand at the Russian, "It's fine. To be honest, the place is a dump and it's semi-sketchy but...it's got cheap rent."

Ivan relaxed and asked as Alfred opened the door. "Do you need help getting up the stairs?"

Alfred snorted as if the question was a joke. "No, I'll be fine. Besides if you get out you might get carjacked. Thanks for the treatment Mr. Braginski."

"Ivan...call me, Ivan. Since we are now friends." He added with a happy genuine grin.

Alfred mentally paused and felt his face heat up, reflexively slamming the door closed he limped as fast as he could to the stairs. The image that he just mentally took was still clear and lingering.

As he slammed the door closed to his apartment, Ivan blinked and raised an eyebrow while scratching the back of his head. "Too soon?"

"Friends. Did he say, friends, yeah? Fuck yeah!" Alfred cheered while doing a limp karate kick at the air.

He smiled and slowly limped towards a square safe and pulled a key that was from around his neck and unlocked the padlock as it clicked open. Inside was a large book that had pictures, cut outs of tweets and Facebook posts, including tissues with the snot that came from the cold he had a month back. There was even the starting of mint gum ball from the pieces that he chewed and threw away.

His treasury was precious and he would soon be adding more to his collection. Briskly grabbing some paper and a pen he scribbled down the memo,

'April 5th. Ivan my Russian God, said we could be friends after we coincidentally bumped into each other. It was romantic! I even hurt my leg and he made it better with his strong hands!'

He finished while adding decorative hearts around the small passage.

Alfred closed the book and slammed the safe shut before he stood up and stretched his back grinning with a macabre sneer. "Next, build up our friendship and move to step two. I will win that big lugs heart!"
