Sawyer's POV

The doorbell sounded throughout the house and signalled that someone was at the door. It was probably Willow and Taylor. They had come to hang out tonight while the rest of our friends went on a triple date.

I unlocked the door and let them both inside.

"Hey man." Taylor said cheerfully as he walked past me and into the living room.

Willow also said hello before following Taylor and sinking down into one of the couches.

I sat down on a nearby bean bag, pulled out my phone and then scrolled through my snapchat stories.

I unlocked my phone and sighed out of annoyance.

"Is what I'm feeling normal?" I asked aloud.

"What are you feeling?" Willow inquired.

"Never mind, you don't want to hear about my shitty feelings anyway." I huffed and rested my head on my hands as I looked at the ceiling.

"You're right, we don't." Taylor snickered.

I heard Willow's hand connect with Taylor's bare skin as she slapped him.

"Don't be stupid. Tell us what you're feeling." Willow said sympathetically.

"It just really pisses me off that everyone's in relationships and I'm missing out. I know that I'm still young and I have plenty of time to find someone – but that doesn't mean I don't want to find her now." I mumbled as I kept my eyes glued to the ceiling.

I heard Willow come and sit down in the bean bag with me. I scooted over to make room for her.

"Sawyer, what you're feeling is completely normal. What the hell, I feel that way a lot of the time too – and Taylor would never admit it – but so does he." Willow whispered so only I could hear.

"I could always introduce you to a few girls?" She offered.

"I really want someone I can share a special connection with." I sighed.

"And you'll find her! I know that it sucks because our friends are just a daily reminder of what being in a couple is like - but sometimes you just got to believe that the perfect person is out there for you." Willow smiled.

How did she always know what to say?

I suddenly was aware of how close my body was to Willow's. We were both lying down in the bean bag. Her legs were on top of mine and the side of our torsos were pressed together. All of a sudden, my body tensed up.

I jumped up out of the bean bag and smiled sheepishly, my face instantly flushing.

"So – uh – who's for pizza?"
