In My Eyes

I couldn't resist myself.
The soft succulent skin
begging to be ripped from the bone.

I lured you away
from the path you took
with the sweet scent of flowers.
Farther into the forest you wandered
finding an even more gorgeous flower than the last.

I went to the house
deep in the woods
to find an appetizer to my main course.
Leathery and tough
I swallowed her whole
the old woman you call grandmother.

I put on a disguise
and waited in the bed.
My warm fresh meal padded in.
I had a nice conversation
before I enjoyed my meal.

If only I hadn't snored so loud.
That vulgar huntsman ruined everything.
If he wasn't so nice
and ignored my snoring
I'd be alive and full.
