Alaska's POV
"Hey dude, wanna come over? America's throwing a party over here and it's little weird being the only girl here. Especially with France around. I haven't seen you in a long time, you know?" I asked, moving into my room to keep the noise of the prty goingon out of my conversation.
"You realize that the World Conference was just yesterday, right? We literally saw each other not even a day ago." Monte explained to me, making me roll eyes.
"Yeah, but still..." I whined a bit, sitting on my bed.
"Fine, I'll come over, but no partying for me. My throat hurts a bit." She told me, making me smile.
"Aw yeah! Thanks, man."

Monte Carlo's POV
Holding my thermis, I approached the home of Alaska and America. Hearing some loud chatter outside the door of America's house, I didn't expect anyone to hear my knock, and the door was open. So, I just opened it to see a few countries here and there in their own little clique. France, Spain and Prussia were together, America and England and so on. Rubbing my head a bit, I took a sip from the thermis in hand, wrinkling my nose a little at the bitter taste of warm tea. How England drank this, was beyond me.
Moving into the kitchen, I brushed past said English country and made my way to the fidge. Maybe a little milk would help? Opening the fridge, I grabbed a gallon before turning back to the island where my thermis was set. Before I could even set the milk down, I saw England approach me.
"Monte Carlo, I didn't expect to see you here." The blond kept his distance from me.
"I wasn't going to, but Alaska wanted me here since she felt awkward being the only girl here. My throat hurts a bit so I'm drinking some tea, but I needed to get some milk to mix with it." I explained, pushing the door of the fridge closed with my hip. Putting the gallon on the counter, I noticed that England seemed to grow an interest in what I said.
"Tea, you say? Do you mind if I try some before you add that milk?" He asked, his eyes widening a little.
My eyebrow raised a bit, but I then remembered that this was the very country that made the beverage. "Uh, sure. Go ahead." I nodded, watching as he found a mug from a cabinet and took my thermis in his hand before pouring the softly steaming light brown liquid into his cup. Sniffing at the steam, his nose seemed to wrinkle a little, like mine did when I drank from it.
I watched as he blew the drink to cool it slightly before tipping his head back and taking a sip. I jumped a bit when his eyes widened and he pulled away from the rim of the mug to turn and spit out what he had tasted.
"What the bloody hell?! This is the worst tea I've ever had in my life!" England looked toward me with an accusing look.
"W-What?! Isn't that the tea you made?! I bought that with the label that said it was straight from England!" I didn't want him to think I had made it myself. "I stopped by a store here and brought that on the way!"
"Here!? In America?! No wonder it's no good!" He dumped what was left in my container down the drain.
"You owe me $3.27." I said, a little glad he dumped it out.
"You paid for that garbage?! It tasted like dish water!" He practically scolded me for drinking what I paid for.
"I wasn't going to waste money like that!" I defended, crossing my arms over my chest.
The sight of my slightly upset form must have gotten to him, because he sighed a bit and brought my attention back to him. "I apologize, Monte Carlo... It's just upsetting to have someone make something awful then put your label on it." England came a little closer.
His words made me look up at him, the corner of my lips tugging into a curl. "It's okay, England. I would be pretty upset too, I someone made tomatoe sauce that was terrible and made it seem like it came from me." I nodded, taking my hands away from my chest.
"Thank you, Monte. I'll make you a new cup of tea. Since that one you purchased was truely displeasing..." He offered, making a little smile of his own to respond to mine.
"I...I really don't mind, England. I don't want to push it or anything..." I got a little flustered, taking a liking to his emerald eyes against my own brown ones.
"Nonsense, I would be happy to make it for you."
Alaska's POV
"Hey, have you seen Monte?" I asked my older brother, tugging on his bomber jacket.
"Yeah, dude, she's in the kitchen with iggybrows." He directed, turning away from me to talk with France about lady liberty.
Making my way to the kitchen, I noticed that my friend had taken up a conversation with England, her face smiling and laughing. My lips curved into a grin, knowing exactly what was going on. Turning on my heels and leaping up the stairs, back into my room, I thought about the two alone together, and it finally clicked.
